  The house has a lot of character and extremely cozy while providing a lot of space. It had everything we needed including basic toiletries, kitchen baking and cooking supplies, hot chocolate for the kiddos and multiple coffee options for the adults. We had a great time and really enjoyed our visit!!

• Nice home, cleaning needs some work

  My family traveled to Wintergreen for the first time for skiing and snowboarding. Overall, this is a great home with all the amenities that you need and a very short drive to the slopes. The owner was responsive to questions before hand which I appreciated. I had to take one star off of my rating because the downstairs bathroom was not cleaned and overall, the location could be cleaner. There was hair and dirt all in the bottom of the shower and dried toothpaste on the countertops and toothpaste splatters on the mirror. Toilet was not horrible, but had not been cleaned and there was a sign on the toilet that said "out of order". There was debris on the bottom level stairs that was either left by previous guests or the cleaning staff, that was obviously not vacuumed and the rugs beside the king size bed on the main floor did not look vacuumed as evidenced by strings and other debris on the rugs. Kitchen floor could be cleaner and some parts of table tops did not look like they were wiped down as there were sticky cup rings visible in certain spots. This day and time, you want to know that everything is being thoroughly cleaned, and sadly, in some of these homes, they are not. It's a beautiful home and costly and it should be very clean. I contacted housekeeping about the bathroom, broken toilet, and dirty stairs and they did get back to me in a timely manner and said they would send someone out the next day. -and the toilet had actually been fixed but someone forgot to take the sign off. I told them not to come out because one person in my family was going to be at the house throughout the day and it would be an inconvenience to have to navigate someone coming over to clean, so I cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed stairs and rugs myself. Wiped down table tops and cleaned stuck on food off of the kitchen floor. Not something I wanted to do on vacation. Overall, we liked the home though and the location. Cleaning staff just needs to work out some kinks.

• Lovely home...could have been cleaner

  Overall this was a lovely home and great proximity to the slopes. Had all of the amenities we needed and very cozy. The downstairs bathroom was not cleaned as evidenced by hair and dirt in the bottom of the shower. Also there were toothpaste marks on the counter top and mirror and toilet was not clean. The stairs leading up the main floor were not vacuumed as evidence by debris on the stairs and the rugs on either side of the main floor, king size bed, had not been vacuumed-strings and such stuck into the rugs. Kitchen floor and table tops were not thoroughly cleaned. The downstairs toilet also said it was "out of order". I contacted housekeeping about this and they were very responsive and said they would send someone out the next day and that they were sorry. I told them not to come out because one of my family members would be there (does not ski), and I did not want them to have to navigate a cleaning person coming by. Housekeeping informed me that the toilet had actually been fixed and they must have forgotten to take the sign down. I cleaned all areas mentioned which was not something I wanted to do while on vacation. Great place, cleaning could use some work.

• Great time in the mountains!

  My family and my parents met at Wintergreen for a fall vacation. The owners of the house left a very detailed binder with information which was super helpful. The kitchen was stocked with necessities, but the kitchen floor could use a good scrub. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and we really enjoyed the gas fire pit on the porch.

• Our Wintergreen Experience

  We loved the house. Just a couple of things. The dishwasher was inoperable and one of the bathroom toilets was broken., but there were enough to compensate fie that. I would visit again.
