  Wonderful cabin that is very well appointed and perfect for a Wintergreen stay. Walking distance to the resort for Spring, Summer and Fall activities. Owner is very responsive and accommodating.

• Perfect getaway

  This home is exactly what my family was looking for. The hosts were great! Tyler was quick with responding when we had a question. The home is exactly as described and pictured. The layout was ideal for my husband and me, our 2 teenagers, and 2 small dogs. We could have comfortably slept at least 2 more people, as we didn't need the extra beds in the loft. The home is set up well for guests to check in, unpack, and get comfortable. There was plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and clean up. Lots of towels, plenty of pillows, and anything else we could have needed. I appreciate the clean, uncluttered surfaces. The online home guide was perfect and helped us decide where to hike, go fishing, and eat out.

  My family has stayed in quite a few homes via VRBO and Airbnb, and this one was our favorite. If we go back to Wintergreen, we will try to get this same house again for sure!

• Great place but not walking distance

  Property was nice and kitchen was well equipped but had to ask property mgr for toilet paper bc there was none anywhere in the house. Unless there’s a path that we couldn’t find, walking to the Lodge would’ve required walking on the main road which is not allowed, so property is not walking distance to the resort (a bummer since that was the main reason we picked it). Other than that we had a great time!

• Great fit for our family of 5

  This cabin was very close to the ski lodge and tubing. Everything went very smooth for our stay and they provided plenty of towels and bedding for our family of 5. We would definitely stay here again!

• Some important suggestions for improvement

  The house is lovely, the location and views are beautiful, and the soft warm blankets are cozy.We have a number of recommendations, which would make the stay more hospitable for future visitors:-The home is listed as handicap-accessible: but both mattresses on the beds in the two accessible downstairs bedrooms are very high, which made it difficult and dangerous for our elderly, handicapped mother to get out of, for example in the middle of the night, when she needed to go to the bathroom. -Heat: the dining room was very cold, and emitted cold air out of the floor vents even though the heat was on. So we at times needed to cover ourselves in blankets during our meals in order to stay warm. -The upstairs bathroom: needs hooks to hang towels on to dry. The toilet paper holder is rickety and missing an end piece, so the toilet paper can fall off when used. The bathroom cabinet is missing a bottom shelf, so it cannot be used for storage, other than the drawer at the bottom. -The kitchen: could use more bowls, cups, plates, cutlery in order to avoid having to quickly run the dishwasher after a meal in order to have enough to use afterwards. Tubberware to store food in, sharpened cutting knives, more than 3 large eating bowls, etc would be helpful. We were surprised that the kitchen was not better stocked, because we had stayed at another similarly expensive rental home earlier this year, and it had everything we needed to easily prepare home-cooked meals, which is an important part of enjoying and taking care of our family.-The property manager was great and brought us a large sharp chopping knife and bread knife the next morning after we expressed our pressing need for these two items.-Cleanliness: We were dismayed to find for example that the toiletbrush was dirty, when we arrived. The upstairs eastern-facing, lower bedroom window needs to be cleaned, so that one can see and enjoy the the sun rising and the mountainside view.-Linens: extra linens would have been great, so that when we washed linens, that we had extra to place on the beds.-We were surprised that an expensive rental home has all the above irritating issues. But we hope that our gift of taking the time to carefully provide this specific feedback will be welcomed and result in the needed changes, reparations, and improvements, which would transform this into the lovely, expensive rental that we had looked forward to easily enjoying together as a family on vacation.
