• Quick honeymoon getaway

  This is a very cute little condo. It could only be for a single person or a couple which is perfect. We were only there 3 days so we didn’t use the kitchen but it appeared well equipped. The only things that were less than ideal were 1) trying to get in touch a few days in advance to be sure the tornado didn’t do any damage there, it took two days to get a reply, and 2) it was a little confusing about where to park (the lot was across the way and looks like it’s part of another building) and how to enter (there really isn’t a “front” to the building so finding the right gate required asking another tenant). Those are small things, resolved in a few minutes. The best thing is that the building is literally right at the end of the boardwalk, and all the amenities are a pleasant walk down the beach.

• Reality didn’t match description; safety concerns

  The first night after we arrived we encountered a few big problems. 1) there was no smoke detector….there was the wall mount but no detector attached. That’s a big problem. We found a fire extinguisher buried in a closet, but it was last inspected/filled in 1991! 2) the listing says they have central heat…a big deal for us. That was false, there was an above door-mounted heater/air-conditioner that was very loud….worse, it would constantly turn off and on every couple of minutes, making sleeping impossible. 3) The shower water knobs were loose and hot water spewed from the around the spigot and knob connection. 4) The bed was terrible…very hard and lumpy mattress. So, after the first night of a 7-night vacation we decided to leave and get a refund for the 6 nights we didn’t stay. We contacted Evolve (Leah) who contacted the owner….the owner refused a refund. We sent Leah pictures of the missing smoke detector and pointed out the issue with the central heat. She talked to Evolve management and they agreed to the refund…all done quickly. Thanks to Leah and Evolve for looking after their customers! We’ve used Evolve before and this was our first negative experience….we will use them again, just not at this property.

  - We're disappointed to hear our home didn't meet your expectations which led to you choosing to cut your stay short.
  - We were unaware that the smoke detector had been removed and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. This has since been reinstalled. We have never had this complaint before, however, we have since updated our listing to accurately reflect that the AC and heat is a window unit and not a central AC/heating system.
  - We have further looked into your concerns surrounding the shower faucet and were unable to find any issues.
  - While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort, we're sorry the mattress didn't meet your preferences.
  - We hope that the measures taken by Evolve made up for any inconvenience you may have encountered.
  We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

• Absolute best place to stay in Virginia Beach!

  My husband and I had a great and relaxing time. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony every morning and evening watching the dolphins and enjoying the views. We did not have to drive anywhere because everything we needed and wanted to do was within walking distance. The condo was very clean and well equipped. Perfect little nook. We enjoyed the pool too!

• Absolute best place to stay in Virginia Beach!

  Absolutely will be coming back to this lovely condo! Great location right on the beach and very quiet. There’s also a pool and a small grassy area you can hang out it you don’t want to lay on the beach. The Naval air base is close by and flys over regularly and I happened to come the week before an air show so got to see them getting ready for the show! Gorgeous sunrises and lots of dolphins just off the shoreline. The condo was clean and very well equipped. You do have to go up two small flights of stairs , not a big deal but something to keep in mind if it’s a problem for you. Deb , the host was awesome and was quick to respond to my questions and very helpful. If you have any questions go through her as Evolve is not quick to respond.. I will definitely be returning, as there’s so much to do in Virginia and a week wasn’t enough and this gem of a place was the absolute perfect place for me to call home base!
