• Comfortable Stay

  My family and I stayed 3 nights. The Blue Lagoon Home was very comfortable for our family. Overall, it was stocked with everything needed for a home away from home. The location to the beach was a short walk and convenient. The chairs and table on the deck at the home were very accommodating for those morning and evening times sitting out. The smart TV's were good for us to access our streaming accounts. The outdoor shower downstairs and water spickett and hose was so convenient to help with washing off sand from our swimsuits and beach equipment. My only recommendation would be to consider adding a small barbeque pit for outdoor grilling. We had a great time and would recommend staying at this unit again.

  This home is newly decorated and this review is not meant to be critical, but a summary of our experience. The property is located next to a major roadway with assorted traffic, stereo and ambulance noise, so we knew we wouldn't want to be outside on the deck facing the road and similar properties. We had come for a quiet weekend. Noise interfered with sleep, even with ear plugs. There was no "ocean" view unless we looked through the dirty kitchen window, across the busy road, through rows of homes and caught a glimpse of water. Lighting was overhead, so the BRIGHT lights shined into our eyes when we looked up. No lamps available that were conducive to reading. Master bedroom had a small closet with a plastic set of storage compartments hanging on the closet door. My clothes kept falling out when the unit would not remain stable, so all other items had to be placed on the floor as no other storage space was available in this bedroom. Two TINY stands with TINY lamps (a total of maybe 18 to 24 inches high) were on each side of the bed in the master bedroom. Not helpful. The first, and only, shower taken provided NO hot, but lukewarm, water. We did not call for help because it was late and no further showers were planned. How very disappointing. If you are short, like me, you will need to get on a chair to reach kitchen items above the first overhead shelf. The drive for beach access was relatively short and admission is $12.00 per vehicle. Our stay was disappointing, and overpriced for the value. My best friend and I are seniors, have traveled together for years, and this place has won our least favorite award.

  "Kathi, we are sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your stay. In response to your non-critical review, please see below:
  -The map, photos, and description clearly show that this property is on a corner lot next to the only main road that runs through the island. Our property description in no way states that there are spectacular 'ocean' views. We state there are 'intracoastal waterway' views and, although you can see the gulf best from the top deck of the beach house, the property map and photos would clearly show that this beach house is not front row.
  -The living area has a ceiling fan/light, overhead lighting, and the dining area has lighting, which are all on separate switches. All lighting, including the average-sized bedside tables with lamps that have 3 brightness settings, are clearly depicted in our property photos, which are available for guests to review before booking.
  -All closets are equipped with a minimum of 5-10 plastic hangers, so you are absolutely welcome to hang your clothes in any of the 3 available bedroom closets.
  -If the indoor shower temperature was not hot, it is because the outdoor shower valves were not all closed. We have a sign specifically for this reason as both the hot and cold water run on a continuous loop and if those valves are not shut after use, the indoor water temperature will be affected.
  -Our guest contact is amazing and is available 24-7, so you should have made a quick phone call and this would not have been an issue.
  -We’re sorry to hear the kitchen cabinets were not constructed to your liking, but they are a standard height. We have a lightweight step ladder conveniently placed in the laundry room next to the kitchen for use throughout the home.
  -Our prices are much more reasonable than the beachfront houses, so maybe one of those would be more to your liking and provide you the value you were looking for. We are very sorry to disappoint, but wish you and your best friend well on your future travels."

  This home is beautiful and comes with everything you need to make your stay complete. Close to the beach and anything else you might need. I would definitely use again!
