Our stay at this cabin was OK. Loved the area but will rent a different cabin next time. Here are my Pros and Cons:
Pros:
* Great Location: Easy access to Parkway for quick drive to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg's east side via back roads. We were able to completely avoid the section of the Parkway under construction for our entire visit.
* Area: Nice area with well kept cabins. It is mostly rentals that ranged from super super nice to average. Sky Harbor felt very safe. My kids were able to walk the dogs to the ponds and back without any issue.
* Essentials: The cabin was very clean and well stocked with all the usual essentials in the kitchen and bathrooms. (I personally never feel like there are enough washcloths in rentals. 2 per person for a 7 night stay. I just bring my own.)
* Games: Several board games in the ottomans in the loft. Table arcade game was a hit with our 10 year.
Cons: We arrived on the same day that a massive high wind storm hit the area leaving 30,000+ homes without power including this cabin. The cabin has a well for water. Without power for the pump there was no water either.
*Local Contact Response: Evolve relies on locals for help. The local in this case was contacted numerous times about the power, water, and internet issues. Generally I just wanted to know if this was a short term issue or long term issue where we might need to find alternate lodging. The responses were vague and unhelpful. Evolve's response was far more helpful. Power (and water) was restored about 24 hours after the outage. We were able to stay at the cabin. There was also an internet outage and service was never restored during our stay there.
*Fire pit: The photos show chairs at the fire pit. We were never able to enjoy the amenity as the chairs are locked in a room under the cabin. The key to the door was not available to us. The local rep was contacted but he could not get us a key until Thurs at the earliest....our last full day at the cabin.
*Layout: The cabin is cozy. 2 bedrooms on one side of the cabin. Main bathroom on the other side of the cabin. Loft with bathroom upstairs. No closets in the bedrooms. No coat hangers available. A few hooks on the walls is all. Comfortable for a family of 4 + 2 dogs. Could not imagine more people there.
We contacted Evolve and were offered up to $300 for a night at a hotel if we chose not to stay at the cabin due to power/water issues. We chose to stay and only received 50% of one night ($94).

- We appreciate the patience you must've had to navigate the unusual storm that occurred during your stay! We're so glad the power was restored within the next day and that you and your family were able to enjoy your trip overall, especially with all of the pros you mentioned!
- Thank you for your feedback about the local Guest Contact. Please note, they will no longer be representing us for our renters' needs. We have hired a new local contact who is committed to providing more timely responses, more effective communication, and quickly getting guests the things they need while in residence.
- It's important to us that the home is ready for guest use and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that the power and water outage caused for your stay. In understanding your concerns, Evolve communicated with you the 50% refund off of the one night and you provided immediate approval.
