Not Worth the Price
3/5 If you want something secluded, this is the place for you. It is at the very top of a steep, winding driveway, but that’s expected for the area. The cabin looks like it was a DIY project for the owner as it’s not very polished. The showers were difficult to operate and I could only get scalding hot or ice cold. There is a lot of damage from the swarm of carpenter bees and the woodpecker trying to makes its home in one of the beams outside. The bed upstairs needs a new mattress very badly. The whole place creaks and groans with every step you take and sounds like it may slide off the mountain at any minute. The floors are sloped very badly by the door to the deck. It also would have been nice to be notified before we booked this cabin that it does not have wifi or cable. There is a satellite dish on the porch but it is not connected to any service and there is a DVD player and a selection of DVDs that look like the host just cleaned out their collection at home of all the terrible sequels and no name movies they didn’t want anymore. It’s a good thing we brought books and games and like each other, otherwise the weekend would not have gone so well. Over all it’s just okay. Needs updating and amenities for the price. If it wasn’t the off season and I had to pay more for this cabin I would have been very upset and sought a refund upon arrival. Was our stay terrible? No. Would we come back to this cabin? No. Are there better places for better prices? Yes.
