Poconos Getaway
4/5 Pros:Home was clean.Home owner was very attentive and responsive.Activities in the home and near by.Linens provided.Nice features in the home and extras.Nice views and quiet area.Cons:Home was packed in kitchen with other peoples food and spices in the cabinet. We kept out snacks apart on the counter.Water started out brown. I know you sometimes have to run it but if the home was cleaned in advance you would think they would have done that.Linens were provided but exactly 8 no more. We were 8 people so... One towel. If you are a female or have long hair helps to have a hair towel.VRBO confirmed we did not need to do anything if inclement weather. We ended up shoveling off the deck and salting it after a friend slipped and almost fell.Charges $75 for a vehicle fee but no one checked and there was no guard when we came in.... Seems odd. The posting did say possible fee but not the amount.The fireplace was broken which was disappointing.The heat! The main floor was so cold! We had the baseboards on but it did not seem to keep the area warm. I think it needed the fireplace to really heat the space.I had more cons then pros but I don't think it was a bad home or bad trip. I try to read the details and communicate to ensure it meets our desires and needs. This property fell short. If it were spring or less people in the group this would have fit our needs much better. It just did not turn out to be what we were looking for in a rental and not 100% accurate to the details. The owner was very responsive and nice. We were told to deal with her vs the property manager.
