  • Neat house

    5/5

This was a really neat house; very pretty and built more vertically than any house I'd stayed at. It comfortably house 6 of us (5 adults + 1 child). The neighborhood was great too, with lots of nice restaurants just a couple blocks away.

The house is exactly like it’s shown.

The house was clean and we felt safe.

Everything works. The neighborhood was very quiet.

  • Beautiful crafted urban oasis

    5/5

What a cool place! Highly recommend. Empty nesters visiting college kid and stayed a Saturday through a Friday (she stayed over one night too). Visually stunning just like the pix. Interior decorator with cool antique choices that fit just right - always noticing something new. >100 year old house with great love and investment put into it. Feels like an old country house with brick and original wood.We were able to spread out with 2 of us working remotely on conference calls without issue. Wired well - whichever floor or space might want to enjoy and if need electrical outlet, it’s there. Top bedroom/sitting room great place to hang out with natural light from skylights and balcony sliding door - that also have shades if you don’t want ambient night or early morning light.Hammock on courtyard under tree wonderful for reading books from their excellent library choices.Plenty of restaurants in walking distance. We liked Renata’s Kitchen for Mediterranean and outdoor seating. As any urban location, there is some car noise from nearby bigger streets and a railroad not far, and sidewalk conversation is easily heard from the bedrooms, but those are fairly infrequent as it is a quiet residential street for the most part. Saturday night was the noisiest for sidewalk traffic. Felt safe.Be sure of foot - beautiful hardwood floors, steep stairs linking the 4 floors, stairs/tub for getting in showers. Was glad to have brought soled slippers. Outfitted with kitchen things for eating or heating up but not much for cooking. Bought them a spatula. It’s a new VRBO, so may be still equipping - could use what is standard in most other VRBO’s we stay in such as: coffeemaker, ice cube maker, mixing bowl, measuring cups, and other basic cooking utensils. We did learn the hard way via 2 $26 parking tickets: when on the front street block, parking is 2 hr, even if move it but keep it on the same block. But just go down half block by the school or on the street just perpendicular for free parking. Transit is also nearby. Great memories from the week revolving around being in such a neat place.
