Awesome place to stay. About a 20 min walk from house to Seaside main street, direct access to estuary with great views from deck. Hot tub cleanest we've ever seen, and house very well taken care of. Mattresses are very comfortable. All appliances in great condition, and check in/out process was very painless. Overall great experience and we will be coming back!

Wonderful home in a great location for our family of 7 (1 teen, 4 adult children, and my wife and new). Beautiful setting. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds and plenty of space to spread out and relax. Paddle boarding was a big hit. We would definitely stay here again if we return. Very easy walk to activities downtown but much more quiet and private when back at the home

CONS 1.) Location. What they don’t show you is next door is a parking lot public access and across the street is an abandoned building. With the increase in the transient population and moving them from the city this parking lot is perfect spot for people to park all day/night, sleep, use as a public toilet, change their clothes, smoke drugs and more. All of which occurred during our 5 days stay. Your only option is to call the police and we did. The host will tell you they are harmless; they will tell you that Oregon has loose drug laws etc. and you have to deal with it. The lot is right next to the drive way literally 5 feet from people smoking drug pipes, urinating, sleeping etc. everyday. 2.) Bathrooms. There are 2.5 baths and please note one of them is in the GARAGE. It is not in the house. Not at all convenient for 9 people sharing a house or really safe to use at night given the location. 3.) Space. This house is suitable for 6 -7 people but not 10, more guest beds, more money it seems. The TV has been removed from upstairs to add another bed. There is only 1 TV in the whole house now. 8 of the 10 guests will be located upstairs with 1 bathroom. There is barely seating in the living room for 7 people (deck doesn’t help when it rains for days). The dining room is set up to seat 6 people but you cannot get around the table tight space. 4.) The house is not as charming as it looks in the pictures. All of the floors (up and down) are extremely slated due to house settling, it’s instantly noticeable and it’s not slight. 5.) The ad indicated the cameras are off during the stay. The care taker told us not to worry about the people next to the house because there were cameras on. 6.) Most windows and doors do not have screens. Opening them or keeping them open is not an option because the river outside houses LOTS of bugs. 7.) You will pay fees to EVOLVE and VRBO on this property. These fees will not assist or protect you. PROS 1.) The property is very clean. The Hot tub is well maintained and clean. 2.) The house is well stocked with items. It’s important to provide all of the info and pictures of exterior , all sides to insure it’s suitable for your guests. Increasing the guest numbers, hiding vital location information and house amenities is wrong . What this property rents for you believe you are getting an exceptional property and location, not really. 5 guest left 3 days early, ruined our vacation

Hi Lee-Ann, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
Naturally, we are sorry the property did not meet this guest’s expectations. To clarify a few points:
-The “abandoned building” across the street is the old high school. The property was recently sold to a developer, and the current plans are to put in mid-scale and upscale housing.
-We've had overwhelmingly positive feedback from our guests in part because the public parking lot to the north, the garden lot to the south, and the prohibition of on-street parking give the property a level of privacy not found elsewhere on the water in Seaside where most properties are cheek by jowl with their neighbors.
-The public lot does not permit overnight parking, and the police (whom we asked to drive by regularly because of their concerns) will move anyone along that they encounter, and they did so during their stay.
-The parking lot is visible from only three windows in the house; the entryway front door, the bathroom upstairs and the kitchen downstairs, the latter two of which have shutters that are normally closed. All other windows provide views of the estuary and the garden to the south.
-We turn off our cameras when guests are in residence. Once they let us know of their concerns, we turned on a single camera that faces the driveway and the parking lot to the north to ensure there was no encroachment on the property. We have never had any incursions onto the property, nor any reports of problems with people using the public parking lot and bothering our guests.
-We've had no negative and lots of positive feedback for having an outdoor shower and a half bathroom outside the main house. This allows people enjoying the deck, hot tub, or beach activities to not have to walk through the house to use the bathroom in the garage. We feel it's clear from the listing photos of its location, but we've since revised the wording to emphasize this fact.
-The fourth bedroom upstairs has always had two full size beds in it and has not had a TV for almost a year. The TV was damaged multiple times by unsupervised children, and after the last incident we decided not to replace it. Its absence has not been mentioned by any renters since then.
-The house has four bedrooms with four queens and two fulls, all of which is made clear in the listing. Renters would have to rent three hotel rooms to get comparable space, which is a costly alternative that would not include a kitchen, living room, deck, hot tub, and access to bikes, paddle boards, and beach equipment. We are glad the weather cleared enough for these guests to use these amenities toward the end of their stay.
-Our marketing agent, Evolve Vacation Rentals, uses professional photographers and handles the listing description so their owner clients can be sure that the images and verbiage accurately reflect the property, and guests can decide before booking if the decor meets their expectations.
-Vrbo does collect a fee, which we have no control over, and all fees and rates are broken down before the reservation is confirmed.
While we do everything we can to ensure our guests have a great stay, the two things we cannot control are the weather and our guests' level of anxiety. We are sorry the house did not meet their expectations, but at the same time we are grateful that it has met or exceeded the expectations of the 200 odd groups (including 37 groups of 9 or more people and 113 groups with children) who we have been fortunate to host over the past four years. Of the 121 people who have submitted a review over this time period, 120 gave us five stars and many have returned again. In any event, we trust these guests will have more success the next time they decide to visit Seaside and we wish them well.
