• Reactive communication from the property manager was very disappointing after made aware of the issu

  We rented the house for 43 hours which was two nights. The internet/TV didn't work for 20 hours of our stay. I notified Jamie - the property manager who knew the internet/tv was down because the owner gets notified and never called to tell me. In fact, she said when we spoke she was waiting for my call. We exchanged a few other texts which contained updates from us and the last text I sent was 5 days ago saying how I know this isn't 100% the owners fault but when you have teenagers whose life revolves around technology and you cant use it, that is disappointing for sure. Jamie never responded to that text. Jamie's lack of response has increased that disappointment. Being in a customer centric world she should have handled this situation much better.

  This was our third year in a row to spend time in December in Broken Bow. Our stay at Counting Stars cabin was a tale of two trips.The Cabin:-The cabin was situated at the bottom of a steep grade drive with a gravel circular driveway which added nervousness when coming/going to the cabin even w/ our SUV. The cabin, itself, was modern, well furnished with nice decor & ambiance you would want when getting away from city life. The private upstairs bedroom was a nice retreat from the kiddos & had a beautiful, large balcony for sipping morning coffee or evening star gazing. The bathrooms felt luxurious with spacious, over-sized showers & space to prepare for the day without being in eachother's way. Although more personal preference, we did not care for the small size of the kitchen, lack of pantry space to store food, or the kids bedrooms being the first room inside the front door (due to our kiddos being all under 7yrs old). Overall, the cabin was very nice, comfortable, & offered much of what we were look for when staying in Broken Bow.The Stay:-Our experience was hindered by unfortunate timing at no fault of the owner or mgmt company. Due to recent extreme freezing temps in the area, the city elected to shut off water to parts of the city to find/fix/prevent water issues to the town. Unfortunately, the water to Counting Stars was turned off the day we were set to arrive & was not turned back on until two hours prior to our departure three days later. The lack of running water throughout our entire stay impacted every decision we made. Unable to shower or wash dishes, we elected less outdoor activities or cook as much as originally intended. Not wanting to let the situation ruin our stay, we found ways to enjoy our time away outside of our original plans.Management:-Upon arrival, managment reached out advising there had been water shutoff issues in the area & their cabin had not been effected until that day. Although appreciated, being more proactive & giving us the opportunity to reschedule/cancel would have been preferred w/ the area experiencing the issue for a week . Mgmt stayed in touch w/ the water company daily & kept us updated as best possible. They also brought bottled water for small water needs. After some coaxing, mgmt offered a small refund as a gesture for the inconvienence indicating they did not truly understand the level of impact to our stay. Given better heads up, we likely would have rescheduled or cancelled.

  We enjoyed our stay and the cabin is beautiful! The design and decor make this place a wonderful getaway retreat. We had a nice Welcome basket too! The outdoor area is wonderful.
