  Very pleased with the cabin. The rooms were excellent, and the housewas very spacious. I enjoyed the wooded atmosphere and seeing a family of deer in the morning. Would definitely come back.

• Disappointing Christmas Stay

  Our extended family of 13 checked in on December 23 with the intention of having a wonderful Christmas in this cabin. There were definitely problems that need some attention.Based on the reviews, we wanted to share some feedback about the house. It's a good sized house with room to spread out. The location is good. There are several things to do to pass the time. Having said that, take note of the fact that the downstairs basement is accessed from the outside(as seen in the info). This can be problematic when it is as cold as it was when we were there. The kitchen area only has seats for 9 when this house holds more than that by far. The information said there would be complimentary toiletries. There were absolutely none in any bathrooms. The master bedroom deck appears to be separating from the house. Thus, tiles were popping up and were stacked over in the corner. The real issue with this trip was due to the hard freeze that occurred. During our stay, we had extremely intermittent hot and cold water, and at several points no water at all. At first, this was due to non-insulated piping under the house that froze due to the low temperatures. Luckily, the local points of contact were able to come over after an extended period of time to aid us in getting the water working again. However, on the back half of our stay, the city turned off the water altogether without any notice, thus leaving us without the ability to even flush a toilet for over 24 hours. Please note, this experience wasn't limited to just the house. Local businesses were closed as well due to them not having water either. At this point, we started the packing process to flee this nightmare experience. Even with all the issues, the real challenge was overall communication. We never heard from the owners. We never heard from the property management company, Evolve, even after multiple attempts to contact them across multiple mediums- email, message boards, etc. There was limited communication with the local contacts, due to them being overwhelmed with all the issues in the area. With all that said, fully read the description of the house to know what you are getting. If traveling here during the winter, be aware that you may end up with no water during your stay. Finally, be aware that this property involves navigating multiple points of contact to ensure a successful stay, ie VRBO, Evolve Property Company, local points of contact, and maybe more.

• Introduced Hochatown to Friends

  The house was great for our group of 10! The location was nice as we had neighbors but it didn’t feel like we were in each others faces. I’ll keep this place in mind for our next trip down.

  oven baked uneven,found trash under one of the beds downstairs,one of the showerheads was defective and the basement bathroom sink had a slow leak other than that great trip
