  • Great location and cabin

    I spoke with Chris/owner each day and he made sure our accommodations exceeded our expectations. Loved the fireplaces and hot tub. Attention to detail was put into Catcha Fallin Star. Would def stay at one of Chris’s cabins in the future.

    Perfect for couples get away. When you walk in to the bedrooms it is a relaxing spa feeling. Great place!

    Let me first say that Evolve has been wonderful to work with and my reviews for them would be 5 out of 5! However, our experience with this cabin owner was so awful that regardless of how beautiful the cabin is, you couldn't pay me enough to stay here again. The cabin is gorgeous. However, the owner and property management company (that is owned by the owners) were dishonest, unreasonable, and unkind. We booked this cabin for the week after Christmas. Prior to our arrival there had been a huge winter storm that came through and busted a water main in town, thus shutting the water off to the entire town. On our drive up, I got a text from the owner stating that there was a water shortage in town and that I should pick up some water. I assumed he meant bottled water and so we took his advice and picked up some bottled water. Upon arrival to the cabin, there was no water. We couldn't flush the toilets, take showers, wash our hands, etc. I contacted the owner and though he initially acted concerned, it quickly became obvious he was either more concerned about us staying so he could collect his money or completely ignorant on the fact that water is a necessity. I said I wanted to cook- he suggested that not having water should not interfere with me cooking. When I said we needed to go to the bathroom, he said- well the water you brought you should help you fill up the tanks to flush. His ignorance and lack of concern was sprinkled with "kindness", but as I suspected his real side showed when we chose to leave the next morning because there was still no water. Though he assured me a full refund, upon getting home he offered me a partial refund. When I told him I paid more than he was offering, his response was "no ma'am." Degrading and rude. I offered to send him a screen shot of my payment to which he replied, " I don't need it." I did hire an attorney to advise me on how to handle such a difficult situation and immediately stopped communication with him and went back to Evolve. He told me "You can deal with Evolve if you want, but I don't have time for this." Thankfully Evolve was wonderful and got me a full refund within 24 hours of reaching out. I am a travel agent and I know storm happens. That's life. But how this was handled is unacceptable. So save yourself the hell we endured, avoid this cabin. There are many beautiful cabins in the area with informed and kind owners that will take better care of you should there be an issue.

    Hi Dannah, the homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following:

    I'm very sorry you had to resort to an untrue review about my character and the way you were treated with our communication.

    I specifically told you there was a water main break in Hochatown and none of the convenient stores had water. At that time, on your check-in date, my cabin still had running water. On the day of your check-in, between 1pm and 4pm, the water company shut off all water to cabins to find where the leak was coming from. My cleaner finished cleaning around noon and still had running water.

    I never told you not to cook dinner on your first night, you said you were going to cook dinner but the water was out. My specific text was "you should be good with cooking and any water needs with the extra water you brought". You said you only picked up an extra 12-pack. I immediately had a $40 case of water delivered to the cabin because of your distress about not buying enough. In understanding your concern, I offered to buy your dinner when you decided to go out to eat and offered you a couple of free nights to relieve your frustration.

    To ensure efficiency, I started looking for any updates from other owners as to when the water might be back on. I consistently kept you in the loop with any communication I had and shared how sincerely sorry I was that this happened. I made you aware of a possible timeline for the water to be back on which was about 16 hours and fortunately, it came on about noon the next day after you decided to leave. I kept in touch with you the next morning with troubleshooting on getting the toilet flushed and hoping you had the patience to stay as I knew the water would be back on soon.

    I had no problem with a full refund but couldn't do the additional fees that are tacked on by Evolve. I offered to send you the refund from my allocation but you refused unless you got the additional fees.

    As you can see from my previous guests reviews I have an impeccable customer service record so for you to try and damage that is a lack of maturity on your end.

    I wish you well in your future travel and am very regretful that this happened at my property on your reservation. I do all I can to make the best possible stay, and I look forward to my property hosting many satisfied guests.

    We loved it, very quiet and private. The hot tub was to die for. The cabin was in pristine condition. Only complaint we have is the downstairs bedroom door wouldn't shut all the way.
