• With black ice even your 4x4 won’t make it!!!!

  When booking the property we were made aware that 4x4 was more than likely needed to get up the very steep driveway. When we arrived to the house in my off road 4x4 4Runner we attempted to go up while there was visible snow. After the first attempt and us sliding all the way down into the road we knew there was more to it than just the snow on the driveway. When I sent a video to the home owner of what my car looked like going up, I then received a call from her husband that his truck made it up there fine the last time they were at the house but it would be depending on how my tires were, how heavy my vehicle is and that we had two options. 1. Try a low 4x4 mode, or 2. get salt for the drive way. My car is definitely made for things like this but There was no way any vehicle was going to make it up that steep of a hill when there was BLACK ICE under the snow. After my whole family shoveling the driveway for almost 3 hours, everyone falling while doing so, and spending $200 on salt we were finally able to get inside the house. I’m sure they saw everything we did on the cameras and how long we were out there. There were no accommodations made, i understand the weather in ruidoso and how it can be. But when you’re renting out a house that we paid over $1,500 for you would think they would have someone do that to accommodate their guest and the money their spending. Regardless of needing a “4x4 to get up the driveway”. The house itself was very nice and there was more than enough room for everyone. Nothing bad to say about the house! But keep in mind when booking your stay and if it’s in the winter be prepared to shovel the driveway yourself!!!

We did inform you, via text, of the snow on the driveway, as well as tending to all your calls to offer options, such as the property having additional parking at the lower level. After our phone conversations, we were not made aware of any other issue or any additional expenses you might have incurred. Inclement weather in Ruidoso, NM is not unusual for this time of the year, and every guest is informed of the necessity to have a 4x4 vehicle and an experienced driver to maneuver a vehicle in the snow in that location. • Amazing get away

  Gorgeous property. Very updated and modern. It feels luxurious like you’re at a resort but you look out the windows and realize you’re in the mountains! The fireplaces were amazing,especially in the garage so we could keep the garage door open and play pool and ping pong. Close to town, lots of deer. The only real issue we had was low water pressure and it took several good minutes for the water to get hot in master but we adapted so it wasn’t that big of a deal. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks

• Excellent location and amenities

  Very good place to stay very close to down town and very peaceful area. The only thing is the driveway is steep and if you are visiting in snow season be prepared with chains or 4x4 vehicle. But other than that this place is awesome

• Beautiful home

  This place was beautiful. We had an amazing time here. The home was very clean and very well stocked. Only disappointing thing is that the hot tub was placed outside and the picture showed it in the garage. Normally not a problem but it was pretty chilly for us to get to use it. Overall we would enjoy coming back to this home.
