• Nice location but needs better cleaning

  Nice location near Ski Cloudcroft and downtown Cloudcroft but be aware you will need four wheel drive to get up and down the steep roads in the neighborhood during the winter months. Tidy but not clean. All blinds coated in dirt. Floors in every room had dust bunnies. Linens washed but stained. Kitchen completely disorganized with dirty dishes inside the cabinets. Couch is old and beat up. Also zero sound barrier between upstairs bedroom and downstairs bedroom. We won’t be back but hopefully the owners can get on top of these issues so future renters can enjoy their stay.

  Hi Becca F, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
  - We have very high standards for our property and strive to provide our guests with a 5-star experience, so we were disappointed to hear we didn't provide you with just that.
  - Our cabin is located in the mountains and can be subject to inclement weather conditions. We would have to agree that during winter months that a four-wheel or all-wheel drive is recommended.
  - We have since talked with our cleaning service to ensure closer attention is paid to detail, including making sure that all dishes in the cabinet are clean, we will also be having a deep clean of the cabin to address all cleanliness concerns. All stained linens will be replaced, and will assess the couch for a likely replacement.
  - We too have often found ourselves looking for various items during our stay in the cabin, as things sometimes get moved around by guests. We will look into creating a drawing/map of the kitchen with labels of where things belong and attach it to the refrigerator with a magnet.
  - The upstairs wood floors and joists are finished with a natural stain and form the ceiling of the downstairs. This finished wood look gives the cabin the "rustic" feel and appearance that we want, but it admittedly results in less soundproofing than ceilings between floors in most two-story homes.

• Great setting in Cloudcroft

  We spent a week in Casa Verde and it was delightful. We hiked every day and had dinner on the deck every evening. Birds galore, esp Stellar Jays, were in constant motion while we drank and ate. A group of approximately 15 elk wandered through the property one evening and one particularly large male checked out the neighbors bird feeder. We saw deer every night. And we walked down to the duck pond several times and just enjoyed the serenity.Highly recommend.

  Great cabin ! Great surroundings! The Elk were amazing ! Also lots of Blue Cardinals , squirrels and deer as well ! We look forward to going back for a visit soon ! The only thing I would change are the mattresses , they are very firm . One had a pillow topper pad and it was still very firm . Otherwise, all amenities were great!
