I’ll start by saying we enjoyed our stay, however, The bed wasn’t very comfortable. I think the mattresses are due for an upgrade.
And as others have said, bring your own pillows if you can.
Still cozy and in a great location.
Clean and quaint. Lovely experience.

Its cute and cozy, but there were minor issues. The cleanliness could have kept up a bit more. One of the bedrooms, the bed was very unstable and the screen door to that same bedroom, the glass didn't close so it made for very cold nights, and it snowed.

It was OK but I would never stay here again. Location was great. Older cabin needing some TLC. Shower dripped non-stop. I read others complaining of same issue for more than a year. We had to wash dirty dishes and utensils that were put away unwashed. Beds are terribly uncomfortable. Thankfully we had a shovel in the truck because the mud and debris at the front door was a mess. It was over two inches deep at the entry. Beneath the layers of mud were three welcome mats stacked on each other. Each was caked with old mud, and the bottom mat had plants growing in it. Looks like rather than cleaning the entry someone simply stacked another mat on top. Slim chance that area has been cleaned this year. We shoveled the entry to avoid bringing mud inside but were unable to clean the mats. No AC so we opened the windows and used fans. Problem is the large holes in the screens allow all of the bugs inside also. Grill was full of ash....FULL. The firebox as well as the cooking chamber had not been emptied in a long time. Vent fan in bathroom is probably the original model. It was loud enough to wake the couple sleeping in the other bedroom. Bathroom walls are stained and dirty. We killed 2 huge spiders inside. TV and wifi were great. Plenty of dishes, utensils, pans, etc. I attempted to contact the owner 4 times prior to travelling and only received a reply after the 4th attempt and only 1 day before the trip.

From the Owner:
Thank you for your feedback.
-People staying at the property are responsible for cleaning their dishes. Our cleaning team cleans appliances, floors, showers, toilets, etc. We get photos from the cleaner each time the kitchen is cleaned. If dishes are put up dirty by other guests we do not ask the cleaner to inspect all the dishes in cabinets each stay.
-There has been a tremendous amount of rain in the area causing mud.
We only put one mat at the door.
-We will have the shower drip and exhaust fan in the bathroom checked and repaired. We also have repairmen available if we are notified during your stay.
-I just had someone go through and check out beds, towels, sheets, and linens.
-I am the owner and I can say, I did not receive a phone call from the guest for this stay. We do have a point of contact to call for any issues with a guest's stay but he was not notified of all the mentioned issues.
-The grill is not to be used, and it should have a sign indicating that. It is not because we don't allow grilling, but the village of Cloudcroft has issued a burn ban.
-We will be visiting the property ourselves in September to make sure everything is the way it is expected to be.
-Most cabins in the area are older, rustic, and not modern.
-We show pictures of the property to let guests know what the cabin looks like. We believe it is cozy and decorated to have the rustic cabin feel with comfortable beds, linens towels
-We also provide guests coffee, teas, etc.
For the price point, I think we offer an incredible deal for guests.
We strive for guests to have an enjoyable, comfortable stay in a cute, cozy rustic cabin in the mountains.
