Bask in the serenity of the Sandia Mountains while staying at this 2-bed, 2-bath Albuquerque townhome! With a private mountain-view patio and cozy southwestern-themed interior, you’ll have everything you need for a relaxing high-desert retreat. This vacation rental is steps from a fitness trail and within minutes of Sandia Peak hiking trails and the tramway. Spend days exploring the city’s rich culture, and afternoons relaxing on the patio!
A short trail, great for hiking, biking, and dog walking, runs just behind the casita! But more serious fitness enthusiasts might prefer Albuquerque’s 56-mile trail ideal for hiking, walking, biking, and running, which runs on the east side of Tramway Boulevard only one block west of the property!
The home sits at the eastern end of the historic Route 66, inviting you to enjoy a nostalgic drive from the northeast heights through Nob Hill! Visit the University of New Mexico campus 8 miles away, drive 10 miles to dine and shop in the city’s downtown and historic Old Town, and wind up on the west mesa above the Rio Grande. Time your drive to coincide with sunset and you’ll see why the conquistadors named the Sandia Mountains the ‘watermelon mountains’.
Drive 15 minutes north along Tramway Boulevard to access hiking and backpacking along the Elena Gallegos Natural Trail! Head up the La Luz Trail to reach the scenic Sandia Peak, then ride back down the mountain in North America’s longest tramway.
If you’re up for a short day trip, take I-40 west to Grants and Gallup, or head east to check out Madrid, a rediscovered ghost town now repurposed as a thriving arts community. Treat yourself to a day of sightseeing, shopping, and art appreciation in the nation’s oldest capital by catching the New Mexico Railrunner train and riding 60 miles north to Santa Fe!
Loved the townhome. We will definitely be returning!

Spot on listing in VRBO -- property didn't disappoint with light, airy feeling right from the beginning. Quickly settled in to enjoy all its amenities and convenient location. Grill and outside dining were a joy! Only slight inconvenience was bar seating (high chairs) for inside dining - we're not as mobile as before, so we used outside dining table as much as possilbe.
