We had a blast here. It's nice and really quiet. Not to far from weaverville.

The little house was a great stay and it is a little house. It is cozy and a good place to stay if you want a romantic weekend. The view outside on the deck is relaxing and beautiful. My husband is an outdoor person (hunter) we really wanted to see some wildlife. We did see some wild turkeys driving in and out but that was it. Considering this was not a romantic get away for us, we enjoyed our stay in this cabin. If we come back up to Mars Hill for a weekend get a way we will stay here again.

My partner and I were looking for a cozy place near Asheville for a long weekend. This cabin fit the bill for what we needed--it's not anything fancy, but we had a great time there. The cabin is in a great location tucked away in the woods; you're not so far from neighbors that you feel isolated, but there is enough privacy that you wouldn't even notice the other houses, and it's very quiet. We enjoyed the fireplace, the deck and the proximity to Asheville and hiking. The owner was also responsive and gave us all of the information we needed for a contactless check-in, which was particularly appreciated given COVID-19.I wish the bed had been a bit more comfortable and larger (there is a full-size bed and a futon), but we did know the bed size before booking, so it wasn't a huge deal. I also wish the cabin had been cleaner; the coffee maker and several of the dishes did not seem to be fully clean (FYI there is no dishwasher). This cabin is a great spot for a couple enjoying a low-key weekend, but I would not try to fit more people than that--the second bed is in an open loft, so no closed door, and the house would probably be too crowded with more than two people. I would also reiterate that an AWD vehicle is necessary for accessing the property. Overall I would recommend this property for a couple looking for a low-key getaway that is a convenient location to Asheville and hiking. The cabin was homey and cozy, and we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stayed and really appreciated the quick response to our questions. The cottage was a little more dated that expected and the loft area was slightly terrifying with a toddler (areas she could just fall through) but she loved it.
