4/5 This was a great location to check out the surrounding areas. We used the cottage as a home base to visit Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Boone, Sugar Mountain. Short drive, less than 30 minutes to any of these destinations.

Nice Quiet Retreat
5/5 Quiet little neighborhood that was nice and shady. Great amenities nearby - golf, lake w/beach and a pool. Really no reason to leave but it was still a bit early in the season for us to use anything with water. this was a great location for us to explore north and south of Grandfather mountain and we did several hikes up to 45 mins in each direction. House came with everything you need and the extra bed in the loft kept the kids from fighting over the 2nd BR. The only thing I wish for would be a golf cart rental but I'm not sure if that is possible with liability issues.
