The only issues we had were the trash cans were full(1 star for cleanliness) and we lost power on Christmas Day for a extended period of time. Property manager was receptive, can’t really control the power grid. For future people staying… when you get to the end of the paved road take a right on gravel road and follow down and around, can be daunting. Overall we loved it and would stay again

Hi Adam, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay. Cleanliness is our highest priority and we are currently working on a better process for the trash to avoid those concerns for future guests. We hope our resolution to the power outage caused by the winter weather met your needs. We are happy to hear you ultimately enjoyed your stay!
Thank you for your insight, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again soon!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The place wasn't quite as nice as it appeared on the listing, but it was fun nonetheless. I was very disappointed with the property manager, however. They were super responsive up until I said we had a problem trying to get the fireplace going and then he NEVER replied. And this was almost immediately upon our arrival. If my husband weren't mechanically inclined and able to figure it out (it still wasn't super easy or very intuitive), we may not have had a fireplace to use -- and that was one of the most important features to us. Also the satellite TV reception was not good enough to watch anything. Fortunately we brought a bunch of DVDs with us and had those to watch. Also the place is not well-reached by GPS... Google maps took us into a driveway for several houses. We basically had to do trial and error to find the actual location. But we still did have a good time, and Murphy is a sweet little town with some really cool shops. We probably won't stay at this exact place again, but we are a little smitten with the town!

Overall, positive. Lovely home, view, etc. But some amenities were missing: no linens available for the fold-out couch, no hand soap in the bathrooms, unwashed & dried washcloth under the sink, surly manager. I would stay here again happily but not under that manager.

The cabin itself was fine. The property is not maintained so no “creek”. The internet is just as the ad says, crappy. Unfortunately, the ac was not working the first day/night and after WE fixed it, it is on a timer that kicks it down to 60 at midnight. The hot water heater kept tripping the breaker (day 2) and didn’t get fixed til the day before we left(day 5) so we were not able to do dishes, laundry, or shower for 3 days. If the issues are fixed, I’d give it 4/5 stars. As of right now, 2 stars. Primitive camping.

Hello Amber, thanks for letting us know about your stay! The owner wanted to address the items that you mentioned:
- We are sorry to hear of the issues you experienced during your stay. We were unsuccessful at reaching you to help troubleshoot the a/c issue you were experiencing on your first day there but were happy to hear you were able to resolve the issue.
- The water heater concern was reported to us on day 2 and was promptly addressed and fixed along with having the a/c unit checked and maintained on the morning of day 3. Unfortunately, being a busy holiday weekend, that was the soonest an HVAC professional was available, however, it was fixed within 24 hrs of the issue being reported.
- The creek is mentioned in the listing as something to listen to, not to access. The creek is a part of the forest on the property line which is at the bottom of a hill.
- Although many people come to the mountains to relax, unwind and disconnect from technology, we understand the internet remains a concern for some. The Murphy area is currently working on increasing their fiber optic map and they hope to have fiber optic internet available at the cabin in 2023, which will greatly improve the internet experience.
We take all feedback seriously and appreciate your comments on improving the cabin or making sure the listing is accurate for our guests!
We had so much fun exploring the surrounding area. Beautiful cabin, beautiful scenery, we hated to leave. Clean cabin and plenty of room to relax.
