Initially upon entering we were all initially shocked. Our first impression was, this definitely doesn't look like the pictures. The pictures were vibrant and depicted a nice open airy concept. The first level definitely isn't for younger couples. 60+ will appreciate the antique nature of the cabin. The bathrooms seem to be the latest upgrades to the cabin whereas everything else is dated EXCEPT for the basement. We learned on the first day that you must take staggered showers because it's impossible to take multiple or back to back showers. We thought the hot water was out after 3 showers. So plan accordingly if you're planning a day out. Fortunately, we were able to ask about this and got an immediate response and was able to plan for the rest of trip. The basement was the absolute best spot in the cabin. Add a pool table and everything at the top wouldn't even matter. We also arrived a little early and the contact was more than happy to check on the status of the cabin. It was ready and we were able to check-in early which was definitely a bonuse after a 8 hours ride.

- Thank you for your review, we hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future.
A wonderful place to get away and relax. It’s close enough to a variety of things to do and also away from busyness and traffic. The location is ideal. Please be mindful of the driveway and getting a running start going uphill…..We saw numerous deer each day either at the house or as we left wolf Laurel. Beautiful.Enjoyed by everyone!

I absolutely loved this stay. The view, the decor, everything was amazing. My only dislike was the hot tub. When you turn on the jets, suds come out overwhelmingly. It’s like being in a bubble bath where the bubbles are almost drowning you. It was too much. Other than that, it was great.

We stayed with our family the week after Christmas. We're from Florida and while I love being in the mountains, the drive UP to wherever we're staying usually scares the pants off me, and given the description of the driveway, I was nervous. All was well: probably one of the better/least scary drives up a mountain we've had. The driveway is steep, but not horrific. It snowed the night we got there and in the days leading up, and temps were below freezing, so once we got there and got to the bottom of the driveway we were definitely snowed in for 2 days, so good we bought our groceries ahead of time. Once things thawed we were able to park one car at the top of the driveway between our house and the one next door - tight, but can be done.
The house itself was really great. The master suite is beautiful. My husband is super picky about beds and commented how comfortable they were. There were 8 of us (6 adults, 2 kids) - never had an issue with hot water for showers. Technically 4 bedrooms but the basement also has a fold-out couch so if we'd not all been couples someone could have stayed downstairs. The kitchen was really well appointed. We like to cook, and they had all the tools and little items needed to make a meal - plenty of cooking/bakeware, kitchen tools, basic oils and spices, etc. So appreciated. We had a lovely time together for the week we stayed, and there was plenty of space for us to do things together or just chill on our own. The view is gorgeous and we used the fire pit in the mornings with coffee and the evenings. There was a family of deer that we could see from the breakfast table pretty much every morning and evening. Also, host/rep Brandi was very responsive and stayed in touch with us before and during the stay and immediately responded to anything. Once we got out, we even took the older kiddo tubing which was very nearby.
Nearest town is Weaverville which had an Ingles and most of what you'd need, and Asheville is about 40 minutes away.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property. :)
From the owner: "Thanks so much Kimberly for your review. With the snow and cold snap, you had a real winter mountain stay at our place. Glad that you and your family enjoyed yourselves and that the beds, fire pit, and kitchen amenities worked well. We agree, our local contact, Brandy, is excellent. Thanks again for your stay!"
