Jerry was a great host. He met us at the cabin upon arrival. He was very friendly and gave us all information that we needed. Loved the cabin and location. It was secluded in the woods, but close to town. The back porch was great for relaxing on and listening to the sounds of the forest and the creek below. We thoroughly enjoyed the outside fire pit and fireplace. We used them every night after coming back from our daily adventures. The cabin was comfortable and just as described in the description. We had everything we needed. Our 5 year old grandson also loved it. We explored around the cabin, swung in the swings, took walks and there was plenty of videos and games for him to play. Would definitely recommend this cabin for a family vacation.

From start to finish, we had an amazing vacation! The cabin had ample privacy, but it was located close to many of the area's attractions: whiteside mountain, sliding rock, Cashiers, Highlands, many waterfalls, etc. The owner, Jerry, met us at the cabin to show us around and make sure that everything was okay. The DVD library was extensive and there was plenty of firewood. Everything at the cabin was in working order and all of the essientials were available. It set the scene for a great experience!

This is a great property to sit on a porch, enjoy a hammock, check out the bosains lift chair, and just relax to the sounds of nature. The creek at the bottom of the mountain gives a lovely constant background to the birds, deer, turtles, frogs, and other woodland creatures who share this mountain home. There is a lovely fire pit and an outdoor fireplace. Also keep your eye out for all the opportunities to relax on a swing on this property. There are lots of them. The kitchen is quite useable although there is really room for only one cook at a time. The beds are all quite comfortable. You have your choice of a shower or a bath which is quite nice. This one definitely goes on our recommend list.

Lovely, rustic cabin. The owner is a pleasure to work with. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

If you're looking for a nice cabin away from the crowds, and a way to disconnect from everything, this is the place. The owner, Jerry, built this cabin at the end of a long, winding, single-lane road. There are neighbors nearby but you can't see or hear them. The air is crisp and the views are very nice.Jerry took the time to call us the day before check-in and provide supplemental driving direction which we were glad we had because GPS was sketchy in spots and both ATT and Verizon service are not reliable as you get closer to the cabin. Jerry was also kind enough to wait for us to arrive 2 hours later than we had anticipated.Once there, he provided all kinds of area information for hikes, restaurants, and other things to see and do. He showed us all the features of the cabin and helped us with luggage. One of the neat features are the chainsaw carvings of owls in the trees and the one large totem by the entrance to the cabin.Unfortunately, it rained the entire time we were there so we couldn't take advantage of Jerry's insights about the area, but we made the best of an amazing DVD collection and watched a lot of movies and listened to the rain. So be prepared if you book - there is no Internet, WiFi, non-existent cell reception (Verizon had 1 bar) and no TV. It was perfect for us to watch movies, read books, and simply connect with each other.Cashiers is about 15 minutes away and Highlands about 30 minutes. We took advantage of both towns and enjoyed some great restaurants in both locations. Driving back at night can be a little scary but I think that was because of the rain and low clouds blanketing the road.We had a great time and look forward to trying again next fall - hopefully without the rain!
