We went to Emerald Isle for the first time. Family wedding . We rented a Slice of Life for the week for 2 reasons, close to the beach and they allowed a pet. I have never used a service like VRBO before and was nervous about the accommodations. I had read the past reviews and mostly all were good, Our house was perfect for us. Very clean , stocked with pots and pans , coffee maker and all that we needed to make breakfast and lunch. We did have another couple next to us, we never heard them and they kept to themselves . Our weather was spectacular , and we enjoyed the beach and low crowds. I recommend Slice of Life and we will plan on returning in future
I loved the little house. It was just me and my little dog and found the home to be perfect for us. We walked the beach and neighborhood every day and found everyone friendly. The home was clean and had everything one would need.

We enjoyed our short stay. The walk to the beach was easy. The walking/biking trail was very convenient. The home was comfortable and back porch was relaxing.

Thought the beach was out the back door. Slightly disappointed. Only for seconds though. The place was peaceful. Perfectly located clean and adorable. We spent our honey moon there at a slice of life. And we loved every moment ty so much.

Overall, we were comfortable; the location was perfect and everyone we encountered, locals and visitors, were friendly and kind. We have 2 complaints related to cleanliness. The bathroom was in desperate need of a deep cleaning. Black mold was visibly pervasive in the seams of the walk-in shower and sink drain. Dishes, glasses, cups and implements pulled from cabinets and drawers were dirty, obviously stained with coffee residue and food particles. It reminded me of when my dishwasher gave up the ghost and needed replacement; however, in this instance, the items were returned to the cupboards without remedy. We did not use the dishwasher and handwashed all items, certainly before using and during our stay. I'm confident with this information, the owner and / or the property management will respond appropriately. The property is a lovely restoration of a classic mid-century beach cottage.
