My business partner and I stayed here for 3 nights while teaching a weekend course in Durham. The house was *very* clean and amazingly well appointed - the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Great knives btw, which I didn't expect to find. The bedrooms were very comfortable, the master bed is fairly hard, which I *loved* and the 2nd bedroom mattress is softer. There is laundry in the main bathroom, which is just as nice as the master bath. The whole house renovation seems very recent and is beautiful. The neighborhood seems to be in transition, and I might not be totally comfortable walking around at night by myself. But the house itself felt very safe, and the neighborhood is just my perception - there were no negative events that occurred during our stay. The driveway has a BIG dip at the front edge- if you don't have an SUV you will hit the bottom of your car. The driveway is on an steep angle and there are steps to the front of the house. If you can't do steps or are worried about hills in the wintertime, this would not be your best choice. If those things are not an issue, I would highly recommend you stay here. The host was communicative and quickly responsive with texts. There is a very helpful Welcome book he put together that is better than anything I've seen in a hotel. The driveway and neighborhood were the only reasons I felt I couldn't give it 5 stars, but I would absolutely stay here again :)

The home is clean, inviting and comfortable. It is convenient to Duke University and to other points of interest in Durham, including Durham Bulls baseball. There is no sidewalk in front of the house, but there is one across the street, and we enjoyed walking through some of Old North Durham. Best of all, the host is affable and he communicates well and answers comments or questions quickly.

From the owner: "Thank you so much for the kind words and review! I agree about the area being great for walking around Durham. My favorite is going down Geer St. towards the old Bulls ballpark. I enjoyed speaking with you over text and am glad you had a good stay."
The place was wonderful and the house was just as the picture was listed on the page. The owner had great communication when I needed something they was right there. The trip was an overall success. I would recommend anybody to stay here.

From the owner: "Thank you for the review, Malcolm. You were courteous guests as well and am glad you had a good stay."
My husband and I were in town for a Duke game and were very impressed by the house. It was newly renovated and so nice. Everything was very clean. Super thankful for the extra phone chargers in the drawer since my husband forgot his! Pretty close to downtown but we chose to take an Uber. Only complaint I have is the driveway is steep and hard to get into without scraping if you have a lower sitting car.Overall loved the house! Would definitely stay again!

From the owner: "Hi Ashleigh, thank you for the review! I 100% agree with the driveway comment. I have tried to make it better with the rubber ramps, but it's still a bit of an issue. I hope to get it taken care of eventually. We look forward to hosting you again in the near future!!"
