The view was first rate from the front porch but that's about where the accolades stop. The general feeling of all the guests was that it was not clean. The carpets had numerous stains on them. The Smoke detector didn't have a battery in it upstairs which is pretty unsafe. The deck chairs and driveway were extremely dirty with leaves, straw, and dirt all over everything. Luckily, we had a blower we had brought for float tubes that we could use to blow everything off. Far and away though the worst part was the separate building with the 4th bedroom. It was uninhabitable. There were roaches in the bed, insects crawling around and flying insects all over the place in the room. We were pretty sure that that building has got a serious termite infestation and maybe the main building also. Because of this, 2 in our party had to spend both nights sleeping on the couches. Overall it was dirty and disgusting and not worth the $ spent.

The booking process was easy and simple. However the reviews for this cabin are still accurate the smell of the house was horrible upon entering then the smell of propane was seeping out throughout the house. There is no central heating and air window units and heaters. Some heaters don't work so it was very cold inside. The driveway is not "steep" it is dangerous and unsafe. Our tires spun as we were trying to climb the driveway and so did our families while on the edge of Mountain. If you are unsure whether to rent this for the weekend here is your sign dont do it. Then we left after feeling uncomfortable being there and the place being very outdated and smelly. As well as feeling uncomfortable driving up and down mountain we were only refunded "one" night even though we didn't stay any of the nights and we were there maybe 20 minutes. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Hi Brent, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip.
- The homeowners assured us that the house is cleaned thoroughly between guests, but they suggest running the dehumidifier upon arrival to help if it smells musty.
- The listing mentions that the driveway is steep and 4WD may be needed, but most guests have no issues with it. The homeowners just added more gravel to make the drive easier as well. We are sorry that your family felt unsafe when driving up.
- Lastly, all heaters should be working fine, but the homeowners will double-check to make sure this won't be an issue for future guests.
The trail up to the cabin was very steep but We were prepared. Thankfully we made it safely up. Great cabin, great views! Thanks to Carl we found the button to reset the hot tub. This is a great spot for hiking and there is a river below where we went fishing and swimming. Everyone was very nice! We will definitely be back!!!!!!!!

We had seven adults in our party. This house provided us with ample space to enjoy the deck and have meals together in the house. The location was ideal for tubing at Deep Creek and rafting on the Nantahala. We enjoyed the outstanding view and the privacy that the home allowed. We would happily stay here again.

It rained during our stay and my Sisters van got stuck on gravel road. We had AAA, but since it was a gravel road the additional towing fee was $385.00. Travel up the one lane gravel road is precarious and 4 wheel drive is a must!!!! The lower level smelled like mold and mildew, the plastic chairs outside near the hot tube are fragile. I sat in one chair and it broke .i would never recommend this house

Susan, we're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay at this home. We checked the listing to ensure its accuracy and can confirm that it states that the driveway is steep and 4WD may be necessary in some situations. The homeowner would like to note that the mold and musty smell is common in homes in the area, especially when the house has been closed up. There is a dehumidifier that runs 24-7 to help, but the house needs to air a bit on each new visit. We're also sorry to hear that you had trouble with the plastic chairs. The owner has noted this and will make the appropriate changes where necessary. Thank you for letting us know. Best, the Evolve Team
