The property is in a quiet area very close to Beech Mountain and the Beech Mountain ski area. For our family group the accommodation was perfect - three floors with bedrooms and a bathroom on each allowed us to stay together and still have a reasonable degree of privacy. The furniture and fittings in the property are quite tired - the oven and dishwasher don't work properly. There are notices taped everywhere that I expect are meant to be helpful but come across as slightly threatening and didn't make us feel especially welcome. The photos of the property make it look a lot bigger then it actually is but having said that there was enough room for our party of 10. Our final impression, it's good but with a bit of investment it could be great.

The property is located in a quiet area very close to Beech Mountain and its ski area. Although it's not as big as it looks in the photos, there was enough room for our party of 10 (8 adults, 2 small children). There are three floors with bedrooms and bathrooms on each. Our main issue is that none of the kitchen appliances worked properly - the oven didn't heat up and the dishwasher didn't work. This was a big problem for us because we were eating all our meals in the house and had brought lots of food that need to be heated in the oven. With ten people, a functioning dishwasher would also have been helpful. These issues had been raised in earlier reviews but clearly not attended to. The house is good but with a bit of investment it could have been great.
My family of 10 (including me) loved our stay! It was in the perfect location to the ski slopes, shopping & food. The house was beautiful and we loved that all of the bedrooms were on different levels of the home so that we had personal space and weren’t on top of each other. A family of deer would come visit in the yard almost everyday which were fun to watch. The only downside was that the stove didn’t work so we couldn’t bake anything and the dishwasher also didn’t work and we had to hand wash every dish which was a lot with 10 people in the house. However, even with those two issues we would stay here again and again.
This could be a great home, but the lack of care is evident. The beds are comfortable, but knowing the heavy quilts were used by others and not washed was a little disconcerting. The floors were so filthy I ruined several pair of socks. They have not been mopped in a long time. The kitchen pots and pans for the most part are unusable. The frying pans are warped from the gas stove they were obviously not designed for. The oven would not come to temperature making it unusable. The microwave above the stove had no handle, but there was a second countertop one that worked. The kitchen was just a hodgepodge mess. We washed anything we used first after finding dishes in the cabinet with food on them. The dishwasher was a dual drawer but only the top one worked. With a large group, you could only wash a portion of the dirty dishes. You will definitely need to bring extra towels and washcloths unless you plan to wash every day (only two per bedroom). The upstairs bathroom works for the kids but allow plenty of time for the tub to fill. You can’t take a shower in it though (don’t let the shower curtain around it fool you). A little TLC would go a long way with this home.
