This home is a lovely place to stay! It is clean, comfortable and what a view!! It is in a nice neighborhood with other Mushroom Houses. Close to a nice park, the lighthouse and downtown Charlevoix. Lots of restaurants and shops. The Mushroom House Tour is a must-so fun and informative! Communication with the host was easy as was accessing the house. We highly recommend this property.
This stunning early Earl Young boulder cottage is located in the quiet Boulder Park area of town. I've stayed at many rentals, and this one is hands down the cleanest and most well-appointed. Nothing was overlooked, from multiple coffee options, to an extremely comfortable bed, to the soap in every bathroom. Maybe not as critical to renters, but impressive to me: the attention to detail is also clearly apparent in the décor. The light fixtures are unique, beautiful, and appropriate for the style of the house. Even the switch plate covers are gorgeous. Did I just write about switch plate covers? Rent the house, and you'll see why! Of course, the views are spectacular. The large front window with comfy chairs faces directly north, so you are treated to side views of sunrises and sunsets. Grab your beverage of choice, settle into a chair, and watch the day come or go in this peaceful space. When night takes over, turning on the gas fireplace is a breeze and provides warmth and a golden glow to the living room. When you are ready to leave the house, it's a very easy 1 mile walk into town. This time of year (early April), many businesses are still closed for the season, but there were still good places to enjoy a meal. Once you had your fill of downtown, there are so many places to explore within an hour drive in any direction. I would highly recommend this boulder cottage, and I hope that we find a time to visit again!

The highlight of this property is the beautiful view of Lake Michigan out the picture window. It was cool to be there in late winter to watch blue waves hit the shore, but I can imagine it is pretty cool to be there in the summer we you just have to cross the street to be in the lake. The house itself is of course unique architecture that's very cool, both inside and outside. The house has great amenities -- very nice and stocked kitchen, gas fireplace, and spacious bathrooms and showers. One of the more impressive aspects of this home is that they did a great job updating the home to have the modern amenities that you would expect in a kitchen and in bathrooms, but they really matched the architecture so that it feels like a proper update.
