6 of us cousins, 2 from NC and 4 from Detroit, came to visit an elderly relative and hang out together in our free time (we've done this many times). Needed a house with at least 3 BRs with private baths and this mostly fit the bill, although one of us got stuck with the clawfoot tub and no real shower. We made it work though. House was spacious, kitchen had lots of supplies, loved the wrap around porch with chairs, side deck off the kitchen with fire table, and enjoyed walking to the park at the end of the street. We had a few small issues/questions, most of which were resolved via text with the property manager. We enjoyed the fire table in the evening. Unfortunately, the 2nd night, when we had our local relatives over to visit, the fire table would not stay lit. Determined the tank was empty, and there was no replacement tank. So that was a disappointment. Things like that should be ready to go/enough to last for the duration of a guest visit, as it is a feature in good weather. We didn't let it stop our good time. It would be nice if checkout was at 10:30 or 11am considering the cleanup checklist. Just packing up the foodstuffs (we overbought despite trying not to) took a lot of time that last morning. There was a book with good information and restaurant recommendations, things to do, etc. The beds were comfortable, and we slept well. Would be nice to have hangers in the closets for our clothes. We would stay there again.

Awesome weekend getaway to Cambridge for 5 friends coming from VA/Md and Pa. Beautiful 100+ yr old home on a spacious , and quiet dog friendly property.
Truly appreciated the excellent responses from host for queries. Very friendly and accommodating. Generous with supplies for home. Excellent fire pit area for relaxing and catching up. Plenty of street parking for several cars. There is a smoker, bbq, and even a fish cleaning area with a freezer!
We did not have time to use all the extras at this home and would love to return in a different season.
There is definitely a lot to do in the area!! Host has a great binder full of local information on the Harriet Tubman trail, local oysters, and restaurants not far away in town. We highly recommend Bombay Social, an Indian restaurant in town. They made off menu dishes for us as one of our group had spent time in India! A great night out!
This home was the perfect fit for me, my 2 brothers and cousin who united here for a weekend in December. The four of us hadn’t been together in the same place for 7 years and this home, with its 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, spacious kitchen, large dining room, wide wrap-around porch, gardens and firepit was perfect! My brothers and I are cooks and the kitchen’s large island and gas stove made preparing meals together a breeze. We found rosemary in the garden for our olive oil dipping sauce. There were plenty of dishes, silverware, and serving utensils, coffee pods and creamer and everything you needed including toiletries and cleaning items at your fingertips. (However, if I were staying a while, I would bring my own pots and pans.)The beds got a thumbs up for their linens and overall comfort from everyone (and we age between 59 and 71, so that’s saying a lot!). The primary suite on the 2nd floor, has a very large walk-thru closet/room on your way to a very well-appointed bathroom. Although there is a second full bathroom on the 2nd floor for two other bedrooms, you can also open up access to the primary bathroom to the other 2 bedrooms if needed, while maintaining privacy for the primary. (You might also want to note that all beds are on the 2nd and 3rd floors and that there are 2 futons and 3 single beds in the mix. Three bedrooms’ beds are able to accommodate 2 people). It was in the 30’s and 40’s when we rented and, for an older home, it was very warm and cozy. We also noted the separate AC units throughout the house, pretty much guaranteeing comfort in the warmer months. The home is about a ¾ mile walk to the adorable town where we loved RAR Brewing for appetizers and beer – and I also liked the vibe at High Spot Restaurant. I also recommend checking out the Episcopal Church with its Tiffany stained glass and the Harriet Tubman statue just across the street.I would recommend this property as a short or long-term rental for families and family gatherings (ideally with older children since there are a lot of stairs and there aren’t great site lines to keep track of little ones), groups of friends, and certainly people who like to cook and break bread together. It has been tastefully updated from top to bottom. I’ve rented a lot of homes – including internationally, and I’m a neatnik, design-fussy, but not at the cost of being functional. This property pretty much has it all and is one of the top rentals for me – so 5 Stars it is!
