• Amazing house on the clear river

  The house is big and perfect for a large family. Plenty of space and views from every floor. A few things I noticed: Master bed mattress is a little worn and sags, this leads to a sore back. There are zero food storage containers for left overs. We had to throw out most of our food each night as we didn’t bring empty containers with us. We also had to rent kayaks due to 3 of the 5 being unusable, two singles and the double had broken seats.

  The fire table also doesn’t work. We informed host but no solutions were offered or made. When a listing includes a fire table and 5 usable kayaks, it should include those things or price adjustments should be offered.

  Melissa, the homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following:
  
  - While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort, mattress taste is subjective, and we have never received any complaints about this in the past. We're sorry the mattress didn't meet your preferences.
  
  - We are sorry to hear you had to dispose of food. We do not advertise Tupperware on our listing as a kitchen essential. We encourage guests to purchase their own as we do not provide this item.
  
  - As for the Kayaks, we accommodate 5 kayaks, paddles, and life vests. They are basic kayaks and some have been misused by prior guests. They are all in working condition. After your stay, we had Easy Peasy Mobile Kayaks check to ensure all kayaks are working and found clips on the 2 kayaks were not working but were still in working condition.
  
  - We apologize there were issues with the fire pit. We advise all guests who stay, it is their responsibility to refill after each use. The one in the fire pit was empty but the gas fire pit had propane. We asked our cleaner, Tabitha if she could accommodate a full propane tank for Melissa on Sunday. We assisted over the phone on how to make the propane tank work, we are sorry you did not get to enjoy the firepit. We have since verified the fire pit is working and we are happy to report that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend.
  
  - We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

  We came for a girls weekend and it was a perfect getaway! The house was spacious and clean and fun!! Definitely recommend!!

• Look No Further

  If you are looking for the perfect family get away spot for a group…This is it. Three levels of well decorated clean comfort. The view from the porches is wonderful. There are so many things available to keep everyone entertained. We particularly enjoyed the under dock lights at night. So many fish were there to observe in the illuminated crystal clear water. Manatee swam right up to us while we were swimming during the day. We took a beautiful sunset paddle in the kayaks. There is a tiki bar within walking distance if you’d like some music and cocktails. The people watching from the vantage point of the dock was fun as well. Check in and out went smoothly. Communication was flawless. We had an issue with the washer as we were leaving, and they accommodated us with no problem. I can’t say enough about this place and how well managed it is. We hope to make this a yearly destination and eagerly look forward to returning.

• Great location right by Rogers Park

  Family vacation with 3 generations. Everyone had fun from 8-65 yrs. Huge house and the kids loved that they had their own space in basement with 2nd kitchen, bathroom and even Pac-Man game. We used several of the kayaks and brought 2 boats. Nice grills and a propane fire pit with seating by the water. Very well stocked and tons of spices for cooking!
