Very clean and close to everything! Plenty of space for the two of us and our small dogs. Loved the back porch and sitting areas. Charlotte and David were very responsive and helpful when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house one day.
First let me say Santa Rosa Beach is so beautiful with white sugary sand and turquoise water nothing else really seems to matter. But here we go:
The house was very accommodating and offered a perfect outdoor space for pets. The doors leading outside from the bedrooms were ideal for early morning bathroom time. Our dog loved the yard as well. Definitely better than a square balcony. WE all loved the outdoor covered patio for coffee in the morning and cookout. The twinkling lights gave an extra ambiance. The living area was comfortable enough and the home did not seem small for 5 people. Beds were comfortable. Although, this was not our particular situation, the master bedroom set up with twin beds is ideal for families with small children. Plenty of utensils for cooking but could have been more organized. Bathrooms were nice. Lots of towels and blankets. Beach towels as well. Wagon, chairs and 2 umbrellas in the shed for use. Not all in great condition but they were usable. A nice little cream shop on the corner. Hamburgers, salads, breakfast all day AND ice cream. Food was good and good prices. Picnic tables and dog friendly of course. Bike, kayaks and carts are there as well. Local Catch restaurant at your front door. Great food, nice dining areas. Gulf Place a 15 min walk. Shops and restaurants. Disappointed the Ampitheater is no longer there. Beach is 5-minute walk. Dogs are not allowed on the beach, but it seemed some would go down before 9 am and after 7 pm and not be questioned. We made a bonfire on the beach. It was on my bucket list. Very cool. Contact FWB Fire Dept for permit. With permit, metal tub and firewood (from Ace) it was $180 (HD probably has a cheaper tub) and allowed from 4pm to 1am. WE did experience the septic tank alarm our 2nd day. Call the number immediately as instructed. They were there quickly as promised. There was a cleaning issue to the owner's surprise and was delt with after our stay. The owners were great to work with and really care about the renter's experience. I don't think you will have this same issue. In April the weather was mid 70's every day and not very crowded. I would definitely go back. I hope you and your family have a wonderful stay as well.
I knew this place was cute in the pictures, but it was way better than i expected! We pulled up and i got out and peeked in the gate to make sure we were in the right place, and literally gasped. It was that cute! So shady, clean and comfortable. This house is done perfectly for a family or larg-ish group. Very thoughtfully furnished and decorated. Short walk to the beach and several restaurants. We took bikes, and the bike paths were great. My favorite VRBO so far.
