I rented this penthouse for the view and beautiful accommodations. When I arrived to check in, the process took two hours because someone was in our room which the property manager stated he was aware of but never informed me. After waiting two hours, we got an "upgrade" from a two bedroom to a three bedroom. Far from an upgrade. The master bedroom bathroom leaked, so while you're trying to sleep you hear dripping water. The floor in the master bedroom has some type of damage and moves when you walk on it. The view since no longer a penthouse was of construction of another building (which YAY!! noise). The elevators didn't work, and to catch an early morning flight with all our luggage we had to walk down 25 flights of stairs. But that seemed completely okay by the property. The kitchen garbage disposal was broken and someone shoved food down the sink so the sink barely drained and smelled bad. The dishwasher was broken and smelled bad. The floors were dirty, so we ended up cleaning the floors yet we paid a cleaning fee. The 3rd bedroom part of this amazing upgrade was what I would believe to be the walk in closet for the 2nd bedroom because there were no outlets, no closet and it was very small. I tried disputing this charge with the property manager for some type of refund for time wasted and not getting what I booked. The property manager has stopped communication and now I'm waiting for my credit card company to dispute the charge. I would not recommend this listing, because you have no idea where you will actually be staying.

The property is as advertised, but a little rough around the edges and showing a bit of it's age. Beds, couch & bar area seating was all very comfortable. Showers have quite the punch from a water pressure standpoint. The microwave & clothes washer work fine, but are in pretty rough exterior shape. Coffee machine was an interesting adventure, but okay once we figured it out. Location was easy from the standpoint to grab a taxi or a Lyft, no problem. And there's just a little age that shows through in the flooring, the outdoor area, the elevators, etc. The apartment suited our needs but did not overwhelm.

The VRBO online booking process went very smoothly. I booked this property for a 2 day stay. My party of 4 was to attend a business conference in the neighborhood, so the location was perfect. I paid in full 1 month prior to our check in day. I immediately recieved notice from the host's management company with stay details informing me of the host and the steps for a smooth check in. As per instruction, I sent copies of our IDs to the host, via email. I did so, on the Sunday prior to check in. In doing so, I had an inquiry about parking. When I DID NOT recieve a response to my inquiry, I called the host to confirm receipt on Tuesday. I was told our ID info was recieved and forwarded to the registration desk".On day of check-in, while on a plane in route, the management company sent an email at 2pm stating, the stay was cancelled. But I was in flight and did not recieve it. They called and left a message at 530pm stating that the stay was "double-booked" and the host had guests in his home already --BUT the " good news" was they refunded the money and emailed me some links to some nearby airbnb's. After an entire month, and full payment, the host and the management company 'REALIZED" the double-booking-- just 2 hours before check-in. I feel very strongly that if our IDs were not sent in advance we may not have had this issue. We were unequivocally inconvenienced and missed a very important business meeting that evening. FORTUNATELY, I was referred back to VRBO who did their very best to find a nearby hotel stay and covered the costs.I've used VRBO for booking international stays over the years and they are very thorough. I've never experienced a hosting like this. I understand things happen, people make mistakes...drop balls. This experience by far, was the worse.Not to scar VRBOs ratings for they resolved the issue quickly and professionally. But we hope this review is taken seriously by VRBO and pinned to the top of the host's reviews so future patrons will BE aware!!
