Very nice accommodations, 'JUST RIGHT' as Ms. Goldilocks would say. Wonderful location. Extremely quiet and peaceful. Plenty of parking. Our intentions were to fish some, visit the local eateries (Sand Bar Tiki, Light House Tike at Stump Pass Marina, Englewood's on Dearborn (Mr. Tony and Mr. Bobby are always cordial - the band was great too.), Ken and Barbs on Placida Road....all of these places are worth, multiple return trips. Didn't make it to Snooks but there is always next time. The boat ramp, Lemon Bay, and canal right behind the house were all easily accessible. The dock at the house was again 'just right' and made the trip just that much more enjoyable. And Marc was very to talk with. Had one question and he was right there to with the answer. All in all, could not have a better trip for us.... unless the fish bite a little better but then that's why they it called fishing and not catching.
Horrible…the place smelled of sewer and mildew…there were ants in both bathrooms, dirty dishes in the cupboard the dryer door would only open eight inches because there was a trailer parked too close, and much much more…I took pictures and sent them to the contact . I wasted so much time texting the contact with the issues instead of enjoying my vacation!
Hi Marsha, We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they shared the following:
"-We responded very quickly to resolve all of this guest’s allegations, some even began before she entered the property. We stayed at our home after her departure and were very pleased with the immaculate condition. We consistently strive to ensure every guest enjoys their stay as we work to exceed Evolve's 4 core standards of providing a safe, clean, guest-ready, and as-advertised vacation experience.
-Upon learning of any kind of odor in our home, we communicated to the guest that new carpets had recently been installed in the bedrooms and lanai. In addition, the HVAC and plumbing drains were also recently serviced. Upon further investigation, we learned that the area was plagued with Red Tide during a portion of this guest’s stay. Since our home is on a saltwater canal, we believe a sulfur-like smell emanating from outside could have been the culprit, but apparently, the odor dissipated before she left.
-With regards to bugs, we had no reports of ants before this guest’s stay, nor from other guests. However, Florida is notorious for ants and guests may encounter an occasional bug despite our diligent efforts. Once this concern was raised we had a treatment to solve it delivered overnight to the guest. We want every guest to have a great experience, and if something's not as expected we'll do our best to remedy it.
-In collaboration with our cleaning team, we immediately inspected our home after her stay and found no issues to resolve with regard to odors or ants. We stand by their work and commitment to ensure our property is always guest-ready.
-The safety of our guests will always be our highest priority. The entire laundry area in the garage does have a trailer parked near it. The dryer door does not open a full 180 degrees, however, it does open shy of 90 degrees leaving no less than a 15-16 inch opening within code, thereby passing the inspection for safety. While we've never experienced safety issues, we're sorry if this made your stay uncomfortable in any way. Again, it has not been an issue for us, our cleaning team, or any other guests that have enjoyed our home.
-We understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t go as planned during a vacation. We were disappointed that our landscaper became ill and was unable to trim the few weeds that were against our house. While we appreciated your patience and understanding, we provided a reduced cleaning fee as a kind gesture for any inconvenience experienced.
As made evident in the reviews from our other guests, our commitment is to provide a great experience and we look forward to welcoming and hosting many more guests."
