  • Perfect!

The home was lovely, spacious and clean. The furnishings were nice, inviting and comfortable. The home had everything we needed. It is a short paddle to the main river. I highly recommend a stay!

  • Great place to relax.

    5/5

The house was beautiful and very spacious. I have wanted to return to FL and it’s clear spring rivers for a few years and wanted an alternative to a hotel. The large three bedrooms made it more relaxing and accommodating for my wives and myself. Each room offering restful privacy. I had zero problems with neighbors, loud animals or any excessive noise. Access to water was great and two nice kayaks provided with the house. Confused by a previous review involving man eating canines and traumatized service animals. Service animals my ass. Service animals don’t get aggressive and just because you don’t want to leave the mutt at home doesn’t classify him as a service animal. “In-Breds “ Am I right? The property is great and Dunnellon a wonderful little town with some great eateries and shops. Rainbow spring head just a short drive and it is a paradise. My wives are already wanting a return trip later this year. If you’re family is more than a few…this is the place.

  • Traumatic experiences and discrimination against disabled individuals!!

    1/5

My family and I haven't been able to get together for several years now, due to extremely immune comprised situations with multiple family members (cancer), so we were so excited to finally get together after 2 years!!I arrived before my family so I could train my new service dog to be out on the water with me.Training a service animal is a very intensive thing, that requires a calm non distracting environment. The first day, I unloaded and went straight to the water with my paddleboard and service dog (Rin). We were met by an extremely overgrown hillside, barely accessible Tupperware dock, and the neighbors German Shephard. The grassy areas all around the house had poison ivy and oak. The overgrowth around the dock area was a thriving home for wolf spiders, a family member was bit by one trying to get in the kayak!!You can NOT fit a 12 ft paddleboard or kayak next to the Tupperware dock comfortably, due to extreme overgrowth. (The neighbor was nice enough to clear out some of the overgrowth on her side of the hill and dock for us) When I was trying to drop my board and start training my service animal, I got to the deck before the stairs and immediately was greeted to a viscous German Shephard, I am an animal person so I thought if I talk nice to him and then ignore him, it would be alright...No. The wooden 2x4 frame of the "fence" did NOT even come up to his chest!! In some places, there wasn't even a fence, just PLASTIC BIRD NETTING layered up!! This dog would growl, bark angrily, drool, and jump up on the fence to try and get to you and my service dog every time we were out, attempting to get on the dock was impossible for my service dog while he was out. At one point the dog went as far and coming out of his fence to his dock (which is directly next to the Tupperware dock) myself, Rin, and a family member ran into the house in fear. Later that day the neighbor came out and spoke to us about her dog... She kindly let us know that her dog would EAT us ALIVE and we were lucky!! That I just needed to play with him, (throw the balls that he would drop over the fence) or it was going to be a dangerous vacation. The owner had the police come to the door to try and remove us for having my service dogs with me!! The officer informed myself and owner through his door cam that this was illegal and I should contact a lawyer. The owner argued through the cam with the cop, finally Nancy & owner stopped yelling & threatening us.

    Manager's Response:

From the owners: "As homeowners who love the Rainbow River, we have been excited to share this magical place with others. This occasion was an unfortunate incident where the tenant did not respect our home or neighborhood. We were alerted to the presence of dogs in the home by our neighbor when she called us extremely upset about an incident of a dog in our yard, off leash who attacked her and her dog. We were confused as our listing does not allow dogs, so we checked the video cameras. The tenants had 2 dogs off leash several times in our yard. As we checked the other outdoor footage, which we only do in situations like this, we also noticed one of the tenants going into the house with a cigarette in her mouth. Also against our rules.
We reached out to both Evolve and our property manager Nancy to reach out to the tenants and see what is going on. Despite many, many texts and phone calls from both Evolve and Nancy, to a confirmed number, the tenants refused to answer any type of communication attempt. We even had them on camera talking about the incident backing up our neighbor's story. After attempting to reach them for about an hour, our property manager, Nancy, reached out to the local police department to go by and check the house since she was out of town. The tenants informed him that they were service dogs (news to us), the police officer also reported to us afterwards that one of the dogs lunged at him from the couch when the door was answered and had to be restrained. We have never known service animals to try to attack people, however, if someone says they have a service animal we of course comply with the law. No one was threatened, no lawyers were mentioned, we did ask the tenants to stop smoking in the house, keep the dogs leashed, and to explain the dogs through the video camera since they would not answer the phone. The tenants declined to communicate to us what service the dogs provided and no proof is required by law. We would not rent to these tenants again and were very sad at the situation because our neighbors are very nice people and we felt awful that our tenants put them in harm's way due to their negligence. Their review is unfortunate as it is full of lies about our property and neighbor, but we are not surprised given what we went through when they were in our house. Despite this, we continue to be optimistic about sharing our home with others who would like to experience the stunning Rainbow River. We have many wonderful families come and have positive experiences here and hope to host many more."
