We travel to Denver on a regular basis and have stayed at many properties in the surrounding areas over the last decade. Haven on the Hill is at the top of our list!
The home: CLEAN, great layout for family activities, well stocked kitchen, plenty of supplies and room for family cooking/meals together. There is an eat-in area in the kitchen and a dining room table - perfect for family dinners. Happy hour was usually on the wraparound deck with beautiful views of the mountains and wildlife in the area (huge herds of elk and deer on the property and surrounding areas). The outdoor fire table was a greatly appreciated. We moved inside to the fireplace on cool evenings after dinner - perfect!
The host: Julia was perfect - attentive and provided timely detailed instructions while leaving us to our privacy for a family get together.
The area: Walking in the area is easy and accessible. It is also an easy beautiful short drive to Pike National forest. The fishing, hiking, access to water and wildlife was spectacular. Saw 4 moose right off the road - amazing!
Will definitely return to Haven on the Hill. Highly recommend!

As it stands now (Oct. 16), Haven is open the week of Christmas! We'll have it decorated and cozy for the Christmas holidays. Let us know if you'd like to experience a magical Christmas in the Rockies. All the best!"
We were so fortunate to have found Haven on the Hill for my 1st trip to the mountains from the Midwest. We travel extensively, renting homes almost exclusively, and this was BY FAR the most well-stocked, accommodating rental we have EVER had. Julia, the hostess, was communicative before, during and after our trip and thought of EVERYTHING to make this like our home away from home, even recommending a specific stop for groceries on the way from Denver in Conifer. The gourmet kitchen became our gathering place when we weren't sitting on the adoreable patio sofa overlooking the southern Rockies- you could see even PIKE'S PEAK! It never got old sitting with my coffee, or a local brew in the evening-how relaxing! When it was sprinkling out, from inside the floor to ceiling windows overlook the same view from just about everywhere! Our 2 teens and adult (21 yo) kids had their own ample space to spread out; but we also were able to convene as a family on the deck, in the game room and use the ping-pong table, puzzles & board games! This SUPER CLEAN and well-maintained home is a true mountain chalet with THE comfiest beds and bedding & lots of extras, like and iron + ironing board, fans + space heaters, even a stock of 'in-case-you-forgot-something' items along w/condiments + spices available for use. This is very secluded and true mountain-living; my daughter is a runner and we were very comfortable with her running through the 'neighborhood' for her daily 2 milers-there were folks walking (one young girl walked her sheep almost daily). We saw a family of Pronghorns almost daily when driving to or from the house, and an Elk and some deer just wandering through a neighboring yard. The hummingbird feeder is strategically placed above the sofa, they would come and light on the feeder when we were quiet and observant, so amazing! The bird-watching is brilliant. The quaint town of Fairplay is a must-see, not too far West of Haven on the Hill, and Jefferson Lake may be my fave destination for a beautiful walk (in Pike National Forest a gorgeous 30ish min drive through Jefferson's spectacular mountain countryside to the park)! We took a day trip to Breckenridge as well (under an hour)! I cannot recommend this home enough, and will refer all my friends and family if you would like to visit the mountains (we had some college touring in Denver, and this was an ideal balance--a way to 'relax and unwind' with nature away from the city, yet close enough!

This home is beautiful and so is the property. Great views from the deck, well stocked, clean, comfortable, and lots to do. Games, movies, kayaking at nearby lakes, ping pong, or just relaxing, this place has it all!
We watched hummingbirds feed right over top of our heads on the deck, saw deer and elk on the property, watched the hawks flying above us, and heard an owl at night. Beautiful stars at night.
The owners are super hospitable, and quick to respond to any questions.
We will definitely be coming back!
The owner wanted to pass this along: Thank you, Daniel, for your very nice review of our home Haven on the Hill. You're welcome to stay with us anytime!
