It is an amazing place and beautiful location. Everything was just as represented and the owner the best we have ever experienced. He checked in with us in the morning of our arrival and quick to respond with any concerns we had. The location was amazing in the winter but we can only imagine how spectacular it is in the summer. Loved it.

This is a beautiful little remote cabin on a private lake with a nice deck to relax on. Furnishings were comfortable and styled well with the cabin. If you are looking for a private, secluded place to unplug and relax, this is it. The owner was great with communication and gracious enough to let us check in a bit early.Unfortunately, I did not read the details closely enough. Location wise, I did not see that this is about 12 miles from the town of Idaho Springs, (which we wanted to be close to the town) and not on flat roads like I am used to, it was up the mountain, around sharp curves with steep cliffs. This was scary when we returned in the dark from getting supper in town. Another part I missed is that there is no wifi, cell service was spotty, and no tv or even movies to pop into a tv or a lap top. And the picture of the house form the listing of the balcony is kind of misleading as the trees are right up to the deck and you can't really see the lake for the deck like one would assume. Most of this I can blame myself for not paying close enough attention to the listing. Some people dream of this type of place, so if that is you, then book this place today. The main bedroom had a very uncomfortable bed. My husband slept there about half the night then he made our 16 yr old daughter switch from the couch to the bed with me and even she said that it was really really bad, so I can't just blame our age on this bed. I did text the owner about the bed also feeling like it was going down hill towards the head and we both had head rush head aches in the morning. He was going to look into it so it may be fixed now. In the guest book there has been a lot of amazing reviews and people really love this cabin and I can really see why they would. We just weren't prepared for the drive and the lack of a digital connection. Maybe a few puzzles or board games would help. We didn't go into the loft at all so there may have been some up there. idk. I did enjoy the binoculars to peep at the lake with and a quick nap on the comfy deck chairs.

The cabin was very cozy. We had all we needed and more. The deck and the view was great. We saw a moose the first morning. The lake is very clear making the trout easy to see. Fly fishing was fun (new to us). My husband is hooked! It takes a bit to get used to the altitude but it was well worth it. The nearby towns were a lot of fun. We're in our 60's and couldn't make it up to see St. Mary's glacier but it has motivated us to get in better shape and conquer it next year.

Jake was prompt in sending check-in information and I appreciated the follow-up to ensure we had everything we needed. The cabin was great. We were there for a long weekend. The cabin had everything we needed. Not having a TV or internet provided a chance to unplug. Loved the view and sitting on deck. I would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. The highlight of our stay was watching the moose from the deck.
