Wonderful location and house was clean and well stocked.

This property was super convenient for our ski trip and was exactly as described. Had an amazing time and the shuttle makes visiting Northstar so easy.

I was concerned that recent reviews were not all favorable, but the house was clean and well lit. While the renovations looked a bit do-it-yourself, this house served its purpose as a comfortable place to stay for a family ski weekend. Beautiful location and we saw a fox out back Sunday morning! Note there is not a garage so we had to store our skis outside. Happy that the shuttle was running during Covid, but sadly the ice rink is closed for the season.

I chose this vacation rental because it had 4 bedrooms and would allow us to bring our dog. My son, nephew, brother and I stayed at the house. It is a 2 story house that overlooks a golf course. The living room has a nice view of the golf course. Also it has a working kitchen and laundry room which was great. We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night and the charge was approx $950 for the two night stay. You can drive into downtown Truckee for dinner or go to Lake Tahoe. These are the pros. As for the cons, the first night we all went to bed and my son went a little later. He knocked on my door at night and told me the sheets in his bed were damp and he did not want to sleep in that bed not knowing if they were wet or moldy. So I ended up sleeping on the couch. The bathroom downstairs has a triangular jacuzzi tub that does not drain well and fills with water. When scalding water comes out the shower handle comes off in your hands. You have to shimmy sideways to get into the downstairs bathroom as the jacuzzi tub is really too big for the bathroom. The master bedroom bed has a torn rubber sheet so it crackles when you move in the master bed. The furniture in the living room seems to be about 20 + years old. I notified the Evolve team the next morning and they asked me to document the items and send pictures which I did. I ended up receiving a $210 refund (cleaning deposit). The reply to the wet sheets from the owner was that perhaps we did not know the difference between wet sheets and cold sheets (we do). I wanted to move out after the first night but the guys wanted to stay as we were only there for two nights and they did not want to spend our one full day in Tahoe changing locations. On check out day you must depart by 10:00 a.m. and there is a full range of items from running the dishwasher, taking all the sheets off the beds, putting them in the wash, running the garbage up the hill, closing all the curtains, etc. I think for the amount of money that they are charging, that they could hire a handyperson to do some updates so that things are in good working order. Otherwise it is the guest who ends up using their vacation time documenting things with Evolve.
The property is beautiful, nicely and comfortably decorated, management has excellent communication. However, I was disappointed in the overrall cleanliness. It was tidied up not clean, there were cobb webs everywhere.

Hi Yvette, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our properties seriously! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- Our cleaning service is following COVID requirements for cleaning and they have a specific protocol
- We inquired about the cobwebs, and the cleaners reported seeing no excess number, which would include anything over one maybe two
- They continually remove them and we do spray for spiders twice a year in the offseason so that we have plenty of time to air out the house
- It does keep down the number of spiders, but we are in the middle of a forest and we can not guarantee they won't get in
Thanks for letting us know about your stay!
