  I understand maintenance of a property can be difficult especially when it snows, but that’s not my problem especially considering the price we paid for 4 nights. Starting off, I reached out to the provided property manager twice and got no response. This was an omen for things to come. We arrived with a dishwasher overfilled with dirty dishes that still had food stuck to them, bear boxes that were completely filled with garbage as well as 4 full bags of garbage inside the garage. The walkway to the house hadn’t been shoveled at all and was a giant block of ice in and out of the house. It is the responsibility of the owner to keep their home safe and pay for services to do ensure accessibility. My outreach to the manager was regarding safety and accessibility to the house and their lack of effort for that is probably the reason they didn’t respond. The disappointment didn’t stop there. Multiple advertised features of the house were false: broken chair, broken bathroom sliding door, bbq covered in rotten food/grease making it unusable, broken arcade machine, a dishwasher that’s falling apart, and a lack of basics cups. We also found broken glass and cigarettes on the deck. I made sure to get photos of all of these problems.My bedding had hairs and debris on the sheets when I removed the covers for the first time, so I washed the bedding before getting in because I suspect it was not washed from the last guest. This place is an unique setup in a really cool neighborhood and our trip would have been even better had our rental lived up to what it advertised.

• Vacation Struggles

  The cabin has the potential to be great, but my friends and I were disappointed in the experience. When we arrived the walkway to the front door was covered in thick solid ice that made trips to and from the car dangerous. We found cigarette butts, bottles, broken glass, and what looked to be vomit on the deck. The remote to the fireplace was missing. The remote to the massage chair was missing. The downstairs game room/bedrooms were freezing (outside door has gaps in the frame), and the heater wasn't much use. But our biggest issue was the cabin didn't have wifi/cable when we arrived. We had originally wanted to watch the Super Bowl but were unfortunately limited to our phones. Neither phone number listed for help answered texts or calls, and their inboxes were full so we couldn't leave a message. One of the info sheets did have a third number. This person did pick up but seemed unsure as what to do, so he called the main overseer who then called me back. She phoned the internet company, who in turn phoned me, but with no knowledge of who they were talking to, having to explain it was a rental. We didn't end up getting internet restored until the next afternoon, and only after calling the company again asking if someone could come out sooner than the initial appointment date four days after our arrival, (the day before we left.) The place was nice enough, and I'm sure in the Summer is great, but it left a lot to be desired, and was annoyingly hard to find anyone to help.

• Not what seems on add

  My family and I stayed here 1 week. Shower in upstairs bathroom did not work. We had a ice chest in the kitchen and water from it leaked through ceiling of basement, kitchen sink leaked in bottom of kitchen floor rug became wet all the time. Arrived and fridge took 2 days to cool and freeze. Floors were not cleaned. Found wrappers down stairs in room. Tvs in game room did not work were broken. garage that stated 2 cars only was able to fit one due to stuff from owner in there. Hot tub was dirty, cloudy. We had to find the product cleaner ourselves and clean the hot tub.

  Hi Christina, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
  - We informed you when we agreed to your early check-in that we weren't able to install the new A/C in order to accommodate your dates so the A/C installation was postponed until after your stay
  - However, we gave you instructions for how to conserve cool air in the house which is a very common practice in the Lake Tahoe area
  - Unfortunately, when the temperature of the kitchen refrigerator and freezer were adjusted and the refrigerator doors were left open, this caused the thawed ice water to leak thru the kitchen floor and start dripping into to the lower bedroom
  - Our local contact and housekeeper were happy to come help solve this problem, however, they couldn't make contact with you when they came over to the house
  - Lastly, for the reported cool temperature in the hot tub, we called a local technician out the next day and they reported the chemistry of the tub was off and they'll perform an extra “dump and scrub” on their next scheduled visit
  These issues have now all been resolved and they will not affect future guests staying here with us! Thanks for providing feedback on your stay.

  The family had a great time! Great location and close to Heavenly Ski Resort and center of town. Game Room was fun for family time 😀. Would recommend! Kids loved it
