  I am not one to complain but I was bitterly disappointed. The ad shows there is a small porch with a small bench in front of the unit. That was not for the unit we rented. The unit we rented was on the side of the bldg. This was not set up for 2 people. There were not enough pillow cases, towels, kitchen towels. No lighting in living room. One of the stools in the kitchen was so wobbly we were afraid to use them. We did not. There was just so much wrong. We did make the best of it. Since it was false advertising I feel I should get some kind of refund. Please address these issues.

  - To ensure transparency, the listing and photos are accurately advertised. They represent the home well so guests can confirm if the home meets their needs. On the listing, there is a single picture of the front of the unit as a reference for guests to locate it.
  - Once we were in contact for extra linens, we immediately provided you with the combo to the closet to gain access to more linens that you would need for your stay.
  - The condition of the home and furniture is highly important to us. We inspected the living room light and can confirm that it is functioning well. Rest assure the stools were also checked and is functional for guest use.
  Thank you for sharing your insights and we appreciate all feedback. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

• Great location

  Quick weekend trip to visit our son. Was the perfect location and lots to offer with no car (good as parking was extremely limited) Walked the beach and the bay each just a few steps away. Check out the Mission for a yummy breakfast!

• Not an accurate description

  There were many issues with this property. While the location was terrific (one row of houses behind the beach) this was a back unit of a duplex with virtually no air circulation. The picture on Vrbo showed the front unit porch. Description said there was a/c unit, while there were two portables, one needed to be vented outside with no way to do this w/o opening the door defeating the purpose with flies and warm air coming in. Did not cool the place down one bit. We stayed at the beginning of August, over 90 degrees everyday at the beach and the unit didn't cool down until 9pm. There was no screen on the main window, very little air circulation (its the back unit of the duplex) w/o opening it, and a major safety issue! Contacted the number we were told to and was told the owner knew about it and that there was NO mattress protector on the bed - the other reason I contacted the number. Glad I brought my own pillows too, because the two that were there were terrible. At least the bed was comfortable. I was told the mattress protector had to be cleaned and they had no replacement. Really? They said the mattress was disinfected and sprayed but the thought of it was still gross - one very thin cheap sheet between me and every other guest who slept there. I decided to sleep on top of two sheets instead which was fine with me because it was so hot in the room. Fortunately the communication was good with the numbers and emails we were left with in case there were issues. Someone did come out supposedly to fix the screen the day we decided to leave (a day early), but can't say for certain. No clue if the mattress protector was ever replaced either. No refund was even offered for misleading information. Oh, be prepared to pay almost twice the price of the listing ($100 for cleaning and mandatory daily insurance) too. We reserved 3 nights and cost us over $300 night! Should have stayed at a nice hotel instead. It is a shame, because this unit is cute and I'm sure pleasant when it's not summer. It has as potential but needs attention. Not what was advertised!

• Not what’s advertised

  I had numerous issues with the property, but the first one being that it is not the one in the pictures. The house in the pictures is actually the front unit, which you have to walk down an alley to get behind to access the actual rental. There is no outdoor space for this unit like the pictures show. I messaged the property owner about an issue with the air conditioning (it was 90 degrees in the unit according to the thermometer) and never heard back. I messaged them our first day and 4 days later still no response. The listing says linens are provided. However, we were given a total of 2 towels for our 4 day beach trip. The home is in very poor condition. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable, but there is no doubt it is very old and not well maintained. A large number of the windows don’t open, which is kind of a problem when the air conditioning is broken. A lot of the power outlets don’t work. And most of the lights don’t turn on. The toilet is not secured to the floor so when you sit down it moves. The only real benefit of the house is that it is just a few steps to the beach, so at least when you’re sweating from the heat of the house you can go hang out on the beach to get a breeze and cool off.

  - Unfortunately, we did not receive any calls or messages from you. Otherwise, we would have responded immediately
  - Our cleaning service provides more than two towels for a stay such as yours, and we can always provide more upon request
  - The home is a classic 1950's beach cottage, and we ensure it's in excellent condition for its age
  - All windows are fully functional, and the A/C system works perfectly
  - The toilet itself doesn't move at all. We did tighten the toilet seat after your visit, so it doesn't move anymore. We apologize for the inconvenience

• Not as advertised

  Unfortunately we were misled as to the actual unit. Ended up in the back alley unit! No pull out couch bed as advertised so not enough sleep space! Multiple outlets not working, dinnerplates peeling paint. Very disappointed. Ocean saved our vacation!!!
