We planned to stay in this Pine Mountain club cabin as part of our 16 day trip from San Fran to San Diego, taking in Yosemite and Orange County beach cities…all self catering accommodation. This is the 5th such trip we have done in North America in the last 8 yrs so we have experienced quite a variety of accommodation but never have had such an horrendous experience as this. The cabin was NOT clean, There was NO Aircon other than one extremely noisy intake fan in a downstairs bedroom, despite the listing offering Aircon on VRBO and the place was not in the condition suggested. When we arrived at around 1930 the bedrooms were extremely warm and unusable however turning on the intake fan agitated the resident dust. We contacted the host with our concerns several times, particularly about the heat in the cabin’s downstairs bedrooms and given the fact that we couldn’t open any windows below 7ft due to the prescence of bears and he just became more condescending and rude. Eventually he told us to “f##% off” and “to get the f##%” out of his cabin….and he even sent it in an email !!We contacted VRBO and left the cabin a day earlier than planned. Summary2 of our group developed allergies and my daughter got sick with the extreme heat in the bedroom. Our host told us this was due to the high altitude….however we had just come from 4 days at a higher altitude without any such problems. The host called us “lying scammers” and claimed we were trying to get the accommodation for nothing ! Why would we drive all the way to Pine Mountain club on a 16 day trip just so we could scam some bloke out of a few dollars….truth is his accommodation ruined the “Pine mountain club” experience for the whole family. If you are going to Pine Mountain club for a few days I highly recommend the area but DO NOT STAY WITH THIS HOST. Having travelled through USA, Canada, Dubai, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, India and lots of European countries I have never experienced a host like this and always pride ourselves on getting very positive reviews from hosts. I copied VRBO on his insulting emails.

Hi Joan, we were surprised to read your review as these hots are accustomed to receiving 5-star reviews, and would like to share the following:
- There are both window units and central air that keep the home cool. We have had no recent issues with these.
- We use a professional cleaning company to ensure that the home is cleaned and sanitized between guests and we are confident that the home met our high cleanliness standards before your check-in.
- We have high standards of hospitality and apologize if you experienced anything other than this in your communication with the Guest Contact. When asked for proof of inappropriate language or rude emails, you were not able to produce any.
- The average temperature was in the high 50's, low 60's during your trip so we were confused as to why someone would have had the chance to develop heat poisoning, so we suggested it might be elevation sickness. The cool outdoor temperatures and our AC units should have been enough to keep the home cool.
We always work with both guests and homeowners when issues arise and apologize that we were unable to come to the resolution you were hoping for based on the documentation provided. We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!
