We enjoyed our weekend getaway at this property. This was our 2nd attempt renting this house. The first time there was that major snowstorm that blanketed CA and all the roads were closed. Although the rental company told us we couldn’t rebook or get a refund (read the rental agreement!), the owner was more concerned about our safety than the money and allowed us to rebook for another weekend. We had read all the reviews and were concerned we’d be cold so we brought lots of blankets and firewood but didn’t need any of it because the house was fully stocked…with everything! It was the best stocked kitchen I have ever seen in a short term rental. And they even had a complimentary snack bar down in the game room and a chilled bottle of Prosecco waiting for us upon arrival. We easily walked into town for food and drinks and there was ample space for 6 people to hang around the house all day. The house had a large patio but it was covered in snow and too cold to hang out there but I’m sure it’s a huge hit in the warmer months. Even though the temps dipped into the low 30s, we were never cold or sitting in the house with our jackets. The family room fireplace was easy to use and kept us warm throughout our stay and the space heaters kept the bedrooms cozy. We definitely recommend this property and we will be back!

Please emphasize there's no "heat" in the house minus space heaters. The downstairs wood burning stove filled the house with smoke.... unusable. Pool cues had no tips to play. No propane in the fire pit. Advise guests to bring wood for fireplace. We had a good stay but luckily came prepared from reviews.

A place good for family. Very responsive hosts.

The house is okay. The beds are very uncomfortable. Well stocked with everything you would need to enjoy your stay and have a nice time. Except for warmth. There also are no propane tanks for the fire pit outside or the outdoor standing heater. The tank for the grill was under 25% full. Owner told me to go and refill it. Haha. Thanks for the help. The listing boasts these as perks, but you can’t use them. Bring your own propane tanks from home I guess. The house had no heat. At all. It was in the low 30s / high 20s when we got there and we entered the 2 story house to find 2 space heaters in the upstairs rooms. The central propane powered heating system was turned off and pilot light was not lit. Called the owner and he told me all we could use are the space heaters. The house was an ice box. There are 2 fireplaces that are not central in the house. We hurried to start fires, but they didn’t do much to warm the house. Like not at all. We couldn’t keep waking up to add logs so naturally the fires went out. Our rooms stayed warm with the doors closed, but we stepped out to a freezing cold house. We were bundled up with hats and coats and blankets inside all day while we worked. We didn’t come up here to camp. The owner was rude and not helpful. Brought 2 more space heaters to the house, but was adamant that we don’t use them all at once. Electrical systems in the house can’t handle that. So why bring them if we can’t use them? There is nothing in this posting about heating issues or space heaters. If we had known that we would be freezing inside all weekend we would have stayed at a different house. There are so many places to stay in Pine Mountain Club. Do not stay here. We love the town though! This house and the owner ruined our weekend. Mark and Sarah

Hi Mark, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We're disappointed to hear your stay didn't meet your expectations.
- Our home is located in the mountains and we do note that "this property experience is real mountain life", and for colder months in addition to the fireplace, two electric heaters are provided. We promptly responded and did our best to accommodate your needs, and brought you additional heaters so you could warm the home to your comfort.
We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!
Cabin is very spacious, clean, well equipped. Even comforters on beds are washed for every guest. Kids' room full of toys and with a bunk bad was a hit with my young kids. Great location. Very close to the village. We walked with kids for breakfast to a village café. Convenient close drive to drop off trash. Since you may want to drop off trash daily, it's a big thing to have it on the way. We visited in August and appreciated that cabin is closed from the sun by the hill it's on, so we'd only get direct sun around mid morning. Same for the evening, we'd get shade earlier. Fans were helpful during the day. Spending hot hours by the pool was also very helpful. I've had a few things come up during our almost two weeks stay where I needed to communicate with the host. (needed to make adjustments for my dog to meet PMC guidelines, got a bear in the house because I forgot to close windows, among other little things). The host has been very responsive, thoughtful, delicate, incredibly kind and patient. We needed additional cleaning during our long stay and it was easily arranged. I found cabin very comfortable for a stay with kids. The cabin became our home for our long stay and we already miss it!
