  We enjoyed our stay at the Star House. All necessities were provided for us. We are a family of cooks so we spent a lot of time in the kitchen. The kids played tennis at the clubhouse every day. Our host was attentive and available. Thank you, Kristin!

  This is a charming cabin. Cozy, quirky, stocked with DVDs and board games to make for fun family nights. The best host communication I've ever had with a rental.

• Nice and cozy

  We stayed in Feb and it was a very good experience. There was some snow on the ground and we saw a deer. The cabin was perfect for our stay. Everyone had their own room and bed. The patio was impressive. The only thing that i would mention is the smell of cigarette smoke when we entered the home. There were used cig butts in the ash trays outside the door. That being said, I would stay at this place again.

I offer a full staff for any situation’s that might arise. I hope that if you come back to Star House and something like that happens, you will let me know so that I can alert my staff to address it right away. There hadn’t been anyone in the home for several days so I am wondering if it might’ve been smoke from the fireplace. Star House is listed as a non-smoking home, but some people will try to bend the rules. For that reason, I have the home deep cleaned along with the carpeting cleaned often. Thanks for letting me know and I will keep a close eye on this."

• MAGICAL CABIN ✨

  I originally wanted to stay at the pine mountain inn for New Year’s Eve weekend so my kids can experience snow, ( traveling from Bakersfield ) but they where booked the owner Tony from the inn recommended us to call his friend Kristin at The Star House to see if she had availability. I gave Kristin a call right away her voice gave me peace don’t know how to explain it in words. She was really attentive she proceeded on texting me the link to booked our trip. We ended booking for Martin Luther king 3 day weekend Unfortunately she was booked for New Year’s Eve weekend.

  Anyways I really didn’t read any of the reviews or payed attention to the details of the pictures of the cabin I just booked it.

  When we got there all our family members were in awe with the cabin. Family of 6 adults, 3 kids under 10 and a 11 month old baby and it was perfect for us. We felt home away from home. The more we explore the cabin the more we loved it, all the history behind it every detail you can feel it was made with LOVE. What got my attention was that it was built as a star shape (my nieces name is Estrella in Spanish) by her father, the glass painting above the chimney was hand painted by a local artist. The stones from the chimney were individually collected from different locations by her father. I saw hummingbirds and owl decor thru out the cabin. So to me it was not a coincidence because I see real hummingbirds everywhere, a barn owl just visit our home back in November our first time seeing a real barn owl for my kids and I. I love sunrise, skies, clouds, birds, pine trees, stars just nature in general so then I realized and told my husband that I felt as If the cabin looked for me when I didn’t even search for it 💫

  Our stay was truly magical you feel cozy, peace, and warmth not even Lake Tahoe made me feel what I’ve felt in our stay in The Star house. We got to experience flurries for the first time in our life I am 42, my oldest daughter is 14, my son is 10, and my youngest daughter 8, my oldest niece 28, my youngest niece 17 and my older sister 48 we all LOVED it. We explored the enchanted forest just beautiful we saw mushrooms, gave lots of hugs to the pine trees. Certainly will be back again and again specially to stargaze ✨

  This cabin is a hidden MAGICAL gem you will love your stay at The Star House!
