Beautiful Cabin
3/5 I originally booked this cabin through VRBO. Once my payment went through, I noticed the company that charged me was Evolve, and the rate I was charged was $200.00 higher than the price VRBO gave me. after several calls and about 3 hrs on the phone, it was clear that while the owners advertised in VRBO, they did not process payment, however they still charge a fee for advertising the cabin on their site. evolve would not honor the price given by VRBO. Once this mess was resolved, we arrived at the cabin and it was beautiful, the views are breathtaking. A couple of things I would like to point out. to get to the cabin, you need to go to a very steep dirt road. that is not mentioned in the add. if you have a regular car, you would not be able to get to the top of the hill. the dirt road has a lot of loose gravel and your wheels will spin.
One other thing is there is only one TV. after hiking and sight seeing and a warm shower, I had to watch stuff on my phone as my children were watching their shows. it would have been nice to have a second TV.
Another big thing for me is if I am paying a $200.00 cleaning fee, I shouldn't have to do chores. there is a list of chores I had to do before I left. strip the beds, start a load of laundry, take the trash out, and other stuff I can't remember, if not done, you will get charged an extra fee I left the cabin pretty much in the same shape I found it. so why such a high cleaning fee if I have to do the cleaning? I rent cabins quite a lot and I never get a list of chores to complete before I leave.
On the upside, I was able to check in 2 hrs early and the cabin manager, Stacy was great and prompt with communication.
